Demar brought up a great point. Dame somewhat established his range with that shot. Once he hit it, you knew he could hit shots from that range but until then…how do you know a dude is capable of that until it happens? Yeah PG was emotional when he said it was a bad shot but that definitely wasn’t the best shot that Dame probably could have gotten. That shot is definitely one of the greatest shots I’ve ever seen go in.

If he drives it and brings more defenders to himself and gets doubled and having to pass or keeping it and let the refs decide the game who usually swallow their whistles in last second situations. He made a calculated decision knowing he was capable of making that shot and now we have one of the most iconic shots in NBA history.

PG didn't do anything wrong in that shot. It's a tied game. If you're up by 2 or 3, you gotta be more careful on the perimeter but when it's a 1 point game or tied game, you cannot allow him to get inside. Especially when Dame has gotten an easy layup in the last 2 Portland possessions. You gotta force him to take a tough shot at that point. Dame ain't gonna leave time on the clock after calling an iso so you need a tough shot from him. Credit to him because he is the greatest clutch shot maker of this generation and he is the greatest clutch shot maker beyond the 3 point line in the history of the game and he has outrageous range. It wasn't a bad shot by him but it wasn't the easiest shot you could get. Especially when the game is tied and a layup or one made free throw is good enough to win you the game and the series.
