Could you use audacity to edit the other peaks that need to be removed and then readd it back inside anchor app?
@podsoundschool4 жыл бұрын
GREAT Question. Yes, absolutely. You can also use Pro Tools | First (which is free) or Reaper. That's definitely a better way to go about it. And it's also better just to record into Pro Tools First or Reaper and to export the final (entire) episode as one file and use that as your episode. And when you're really ready to start cookin' then you get a mic and an audio interface and some nice headphones.

Especially for me that I'm not too tech savvy. I currently have a FB page doing videos but it's such a hassle because with the videos, the lighting has to be right, my make up and hair have to be right, the setting and background have to be right, etc. Many times I have my topic ready but just the thought of dressing up, putting make-up, especially now with COVID that we've been cooped up inside has gotten to be too much. I like the idea of just talking without being seeing. I love the expression on Veronica's face, that's how mine is also. From a Latina to Another, super excited!! Gracias y bendiciones

From one beginner to others: Anchor has updated their app to where you can now edit within the clips, so you can trim out bad chunks. You can also edit on desktop which makes it much easier. Audacity is a solid free software for additional basic sound editing like noise reduction, compression and raising volume. Beginner tip- do some sound tests and listen through with headphones in a quiet space before committing to recording a full segment. Pops and plosives are extremely hard to fix after the fact without advanced software! (And possibly A LOT of time, depending on the issues.) I also found the sound to vary between earphones (wired) vs earbuds (wireless) when listening back. UPDATING TO ADD: Compare against an existing similar podcast for volume. I didn’t realize how extremely quiet mine was until i published!

This is really Cool! I'm thinking of starting a podcast where I tell short stories to help people sleep, or wind down Edit 1: Now that I think about it, I might just read stories I create even if it doesn't help with sleep, but idk

Great video... 1 question - What about interviews? How would you do a podcast where you're interviewing someone/two people speaking at the same time? Especially if the person that you're interviewing is a call-in and not there physically with you? I'd really like to do phone interviews and incorporate those. Please advise - Thanks!

CORRECTION!! Studio Steve states that Anchor owns the rights to your podcast, he misunderstood an article he read, apparently this is a big myth that a lot of people keep spreading. Thanks to Ms. Ileane Smith for pointing this out to us. ileanesmith.com Mike Mignano wrote about it here: medium.com/@mignano/no-anchor-doesnt-own-your-podcast-890be43e5463 And Mark Asquith followed up with a fantastic article about Anchor here: rebelbasemedia.io/why-anchor-isnt-the-villain-in-the-podcasting-story/

I've been approached about doing a podcast and i'm completely lost but this will be a cool start. At some point I'll be able to use some of my mix engineer skills but for now this is a pretty good start.

@livingfromthebottomtotheto55124 жыл бұрын
For me it seemed it took about 15 minutes to an hour. It might take longer because of your podcast size and the amount of data you have at that moment. (Number of bars)
@francescatolon4 жыл бұрын
It takes less than a day because Spotify made Anchor.
