You swear to god but you're wrong :) The trade site doesnt work like the in-game currency market. Getting the actual value is NOT the problem. Idk which search engine GGG uses under the hood, they might be using a Lucene based one like Elasticsearch, or a relational db or something else, but the idea is the same: if you want efficient ordering and filtering by price in different currencies, you kinda have to compute and store the value of each item in these different currencies at index time. It's hard to do it at search time. So essentially, changing the rates for currencies requires re-indexing ALL the items in their search engine, and there are millions, and this is a slow process.

I thought it was odd the first couple items were 1ex, then immediately jumped to divines, and then back to exalts again. I message someone, if they don't respond in 60 seconds I send them an invite. By doing the invite thing, I have managed to ACTUALLY get SEVERAL of the items that I had been trying to replace, and boy is my monk mollywhopping mobs and bosses alike now. Be slightly more patient and don't give up. Usually the people who won't actually sell will insta-decline. Even had one guy whisper me back 3 mins later "still need?" Heck yes! I have zero interest in wasting my time or anyone else's. If I'm mapping and someone wants something, I just tell them I'm in the map and if they can wait a bit I'll do the trade after. Takes no effort, really.

Facts. This game , unfortunately, is pay to win. I can go drop 50 bucks real money and buy all the best gear from a third party pay site, that at this point I know works with these companies to make money. The drop rates combined with how trading works is setup for a controlled market .

it is easy to find good gear for tier 5-7 and that will last you until level 80+, most of the equipment is a couple exalts but you need to know what to look for. Thanks mommy lily

Look at when the expensive item has been put on the market, if they have been there for a few weeks they have been put there during the start of the EA when they were still priced high. Also, if they have been for sale for days/weeks, it usually isn't worth the 3-5 div (unless you're looking for real special items that have high value but low need)

10ex shows up below divines and you can't list for partial divines like in poe 1 so you're only two options as a seller is just listing for a divine even if you think it's less so you show up on the trade site or list it for exalts and hope someone knows to manually swap it to exalts. Or I guess just hold onto the item until GGG gets back from vacation and fixes the trade site.

I am a brand new player, I just started trading 2 days ago and have already sold like 14 ex worth of items (maybe they were worth more but they were super low level in general so whatever) Although I have like 20 years of diablo knowledge this game makes me feel like I never quite know what is good or what I need to look out for.....not really a bad thing and I know it will come with time spent in game but its the first time an arpg has really made me feel like im not doing enough at every moment either with build, stats, trading etc. no idea how a new arpg player would even begin to eat this elephant with so little in game explanation.

High Life & Resists are the #1 selling points, then come defensives and after that other dps stats. Then you have "meta" stats like Magic find, which currently sell ok if they are high and are combined with other decent stats, but that's not going to stay the same forever.

Most likely the first video you would find about pricing your items will at some point explain dump tabs. List items via dump tabs when you unable to price items (or eventually won't be bothered to). That way as a side effect you will learn items real value. POE2 has magnitudes lower amount of trash mod combinations (though some junk is still there like light radius, reduced attribute requirements, thorns, and junk because of low rolls like life regen or stun threshold), here its more about big number better.

Exolts are easy to get look thru all shops after level up for +quailty% items armouts,bots,helmets,focuses(act1/2/3... go back to old shops they reset too) and destroy them for upgrades 5 upgrades == 2 exolts. i bouth all my gear with those. You can exchange them after act3 standard.

GGG manipulates the Exalt to Divine ratio on the trade site but it doesn't reflect the actual market price of exalt to Divine. There is a video from about 10 mnths ago where Johnathan said that GGG dont like a functional trade market so they create friction. If they dont like it just delete the thing.

This video contains a big manipulation. Yes, you can buy a helmet with useful stats like rarity and resistances for 1ex. But pay attention to evasion or energy shield, for example. Do you really want to run the endgame in a helmet with 90 energy shield or 200 evasion or 100 armour? Of course not, normal evasion for a helmet is at least 500, and preferably 600. And such items cost 40-100 times more. And those items that are shown in the example of a helmet for 1ex are garbage. And these are not some cool items with perfect rolls, just necessary. I play for DeadEye and every percent of evasion is greatly scaled, and if you sacrifice it, you will often catch a oneshot from white monsters on T15 maps even with a lot of health. But if we are talking about equipment for the company, then you can dress in trash because the monsters there are very weak compared to the end of the game.
