I did this to show what you'd do if you had +3 but your suffixes were garbage. Of course, if you hit +3 and good attack speed, take the win and craft on the Fire DoT/Fire as Extra Chaos and be happy that you saved a few ex. I'm leaning toward the Fossils into Multimod method or the Essence of Dread into Multimod methods, but I'm curious if you have any other methods to share or opinions on which is best :)

So I am a bit concerned that the 100% +1 Socketed gems slam may not work with the patch. Since they are changing the Elemental Damage with Attacks mods into Damage with Bow Skills, it might not have the attack tag anymore. Just something to watch out for once the patch drops.

@@Lolcohol I went into standard and tested the Essence +2 bow, cannot roll attack mods, and exalt method. It does still work, With 2 open prefixes I hit + gems on the exalt, and was not able to exalt another prefix. So the new mod does appear to still have the attack tag.

For the "god tier bow" you can fracture fire dot multi and then it should be pretty straight forward to craft.

Noob question....how can I fracture a specific mod into the item? Do I have to find the base with the mod already fractured on it? (So rly rly rly rare) Or only with the lucky rolling in Harvest (Fracture a Suffix on an item with least 3 Suffixes)? Is there another method or do we have only the 2 options above?.....Is there a method that guarantes hitting the DOT Multi with the Wild Thornfruit Harvest roll?

Option 1: do it with a good synthesis base (+lvl support gems or something else, lots of options) wich is better than a regular thicket bow anyway Option 2: fracture the fire as extra chaos so you can craft a real suffix later . Makes the craft more fragile but at the end of the day you'll end up with a real item. Thicket bows with this prefix are probably a pain to get ^^'. This craft is complicated and choosing fracture by essence makes weaker(so synthesis, no influence) items but fracturing should not be overlooked with rarer league mechanic affixes like special unveils and incursion items. After searching a bit, imho the fracture one is imho the best option because it gets up to 26% on top of saving your regular craft for last suffix. Not even sure that a synthesis base is better in that case unless really lucky. GL finding the base I guess. (I read in other comment after somebody suggesting to fracture the fire mult, it's imho pretty bad, it's something you can craft deterministically, good intuition but crap application)

NICE. For Boomers like me that is informative and very helpfull. Crafting and prepare them is something that is daunting. There is so much possibilities, yes it gives freedom, but you kinda need to take a class or two. Even a weeks long seminar wouldnt be enough. At least it feels that way.

Yeah, there's a lot of different methods and I've seen some people share methods to craft these bows that either aren't realistic or flat out do not work (things like "get +3 then lock prefixes and use essence of zeal" (metacrafts prevent the use of essences on an item), so I wanted to test! In the doc I highlighted the best options (in my opinion), so hopefully those will help you out!

For this bow, I don't think there's a whole bunch you could do unless you roll +3, then lock prefixes and reforge speed? But that might fill your 3rd prefix and would be very costly! Perhaps there is a use for it but for once, Harvest isn't king when it comes to making these bows :D

ive lost so much chaos with the essence of dread t1-3 attack speed method. Wish I had seen this video before I started trying it. Same situation as you where I have hit t2 or t3 attack speed multiple times and then had to annul because suffixes were full and I lost attack speed every time. Is it weighted or were we just getting equally unlucky lol. Edit: Well I hit t2 attack speed but it had fire damage on it so I had to annul it twice and got lucky enough to dodge annuling the attack speed/+2 off, pretty happy still got an open prefix for fire damage as extra chaos as well.

when you slammed the exalt on the bow with cannot roll attack mods and an open suffix it was almost guaranteed that you would hit a suffix. the game doesn't decide if you get a prefix or a suffix when you add a modifier, all the mod tiers that can roll on the item are pooled together by their weight and since you have the 1000 weight (+1 gems) vs more than 40k or 50k (depending on the item level) of all the non-attack suffixes.

@@Crystxllize we are talking about the god tier bow, and since the unveil chance for fire dot multi is so low the best way is to spam veiled chaos orbs and fracture it. as Lolcohol said in the video every attempt costs 8ex and you also have 1/3 chance of removing attack speed and then you need to start from scratch. even if fracture suffixes ends up costing 20ex per attempt it's still better than trying your luck with aisling later.

With the Essences of dread you were searching for a good Speed for a nice bow. While doing that you've rolled over multiple +3bows, which would have been really good with a crafted Attack Speed for a really early league start :)

Yeah that method would work too! But +3s are pretty easy to make with fossils so if you're using Essences of Dread, you're aiming for that Attack Speed, not +3, otherwise you'd just use fossils :) However, ignore what I just said if you get your first 6L from farming The Porcupine - then maybe this is a better method for getting +3! :)

"Fire as extra chaos damage" doesn't do anything for ignite builds, unless you use Zerphi's heart or replica volkuur's guidance or some other gear that makes chaos damage ignite.

Remember when you yolo Annul or Exalt slam, that with the new influence-orbs you can force either a prefix or suffix Annul/Slam. It is probably not worth on the league starter bow though. Also yolo exalting for the last mod, can brick the bow if you hit fire damage on hit, so maybe not worth it.

i actually tested crafting 5 bows myself for day 1. they took me 90 essences in total. every single one had +3, attackspeed and 4 of then some other useful mod. as you wont prioritize these bows day 1.

What about this method?: Veiled chaos to start till you get the mod, bonus points if you get atkspd Suffix can't change, reforge speed till t1 atkspd (or whatever you're ok with) Multimod+Suffix can't change, reforge attack till you get +2 bow gems (this sounds like it could make the method trash, not gonna lie) Cannot roll attack, exalt slam for +1 Haven't tested it, it's just off the top of my head, and you gotta get lucky with the filling of mods, but it sounds like it would be easier.

Yeah I tried a method where I started with Veiled Chaos but the chance to get +2 bow gems was just brutal and also the veiled chaos tends to fill up your suffixes, so once you get the fire DoT, you need to annul to make space for reforge speed, and then your chance to hit good AS is pretty low and again, every attempt means you need to re-attempt the annuls and start from the beginning if you annul the fire DoT One idea though...something I just thought of while typing this - if you get the fire DoT multi, split beast it into a magic item, you could imprint it with Suffixes Cannot Be Changed, that way you don't have to pay 2ex every time you reforge speed? :O But then again, you're stuck with having to lock suffixes, reforge attack until you get +2 which will also be horrific (I think it's a 2000 weight out of like 55,000+ IIRC). But I like your thinking!

For your GG bow, you screwed up the order. Simply do the +1 slam at the end so you don't have to pay 5ex extra per Aisling attempt if you lose attack speed.

Interesting, I put in some guy's PoB just a bow with very high ele dmg (around 900 ele dps) and the dmg was similar or higher to a +3 bow with fire as chaos. Obv if you could get +2 to that it would be even better. Unless PoB miscalculates something. They start around 10ex, tho I bought mine for 1ex lol :)

happened to me while playing, hat a random dropped bow with cold and lightning ele dmg. wanted to upgrad to a +3 (even got 30% elemental dmg with attacks on it) with crafted attack speed. i was quite surprised, to see my ignite dmg drop significantly in the ingame menu. no idea if this calculates something wrong, or ele dmg is just straight up better?

The porcupine set is good, but you'll only get an item level 50 bow, so you'll have to use Essences of Dread to get +2 bow gems. Alternatively, if you're in trade league, just buy a higher ilvl bow that is already 6L

Farming any of the desert tileset maps (dunes is my favorite) for Imperial Legacy is my favorite way to get a 6l bow. It has a very high dex requirement though (Imperial Bow) so it's hard to get off color sockets, but it's ilvl 100 so you can get any mods you like on it.

It's not that much different unless you want a perfect bow. Otherwise you can pick up the %5 easily on other gear like your quiver or on your gloves with the new currency.

I've got a +5 fire spell fractured staff in standard that runs into the same issue when trying to craft suffixes, also interested to hear if there's a better way. It should be mentioned that the fire as extra chaos prefix is only relevant to have for Elementalist EA builds, it does almost nothing for a Heirophant or a Champion.

Nah we'll still have it on bows. They're moving +1 Dex/Int/Str/Cold/Fire/Phys/Chaos/Lightning gems to the non-influenced mod pool and removing it from the influenced mod pool. They're also add "+1 Level of all skill gems" as a new mod. That only has to do with amulets, not bows :)

Sounds like you just got unlucky. What base were you on? Was it item level 64 or were you working on an i50 base from the Porcupine? i50 cannot roll +2 (only +1 Bow Gems), so maybe that was the mistake?

I wouldn't say never, but I do prefer the fossil method! I think the method where you use Dread and isolate +2, then force the +1 and multimod is pretty good, but I don't like the method of using Dread and trying to hit Attack Speed, or Zeal and trying to hit +2
