I am from Chile, I was forced to learn this poem in school when I was little, I even met PABLO NERUDA.He was my father client in VALPARAISO. Now that I am an adult, I understand the real meaning of this poem and make my eyes watery. I feel proud to knew a Novel prize and have his autorgraph. but over all been chilean because we no only have one Novel prize but two, and She is Gabriela Mistral. This video is a master piece, great job Thank You!!!

The producer certainly merits respect. The selections of music and video are exquisite. Combined with the voice, tone and nuance of the reading, Neruda's sentiments are illuminated. His spirit's shape at the moment he wrote the poem easily resonates in our spirits thanks to all of this--something Neruda himself, as a poet, would find a respectable fascination with.

This poem is gorgeous, you can really feel the weight and emotion behind his painful words. He truly loved this woman and regrets it not working out. He views her as a force of nature, a work of art. Beautiful poem.

This poem brought tears of joy to my eyes. I remembered all the women I have loved. We shared our souls. I longed for their company, their embraces, their passion. Now, in my late years, I am blessed with a beautiful woman who is not a transient love affair but filled with all the passion and admiration that only love brings. Yet, I offer a white rose of friendship to all those that came before my present love. Thank you for making me the man I am today . . . a fat bald couch potato . . . just kidding, a kind, nurturing, understanding and compassionate man who is willing to go to any lengths to bring happiness to the ones that he loves.

The background music is simply some of the most hauntingly beautiful music that I have heard from a guitar! This, along with the movie clip make the poem so exquisitely beautiful.. : )

This piece was truly moving; the way that the creator combined such beautiful words with the perfect music to set the mood and filming to tell the story as the narrator does to help provide further clarification as to what is happening in the poem. The narrator’s voice allows the audience to feel what the person in the poem feels, it is compelling.
