As someone who suffers from depression and has dealt with suicidal thoughts, this is a song that immediately made me cry upon hearing it for the first time and I had no idea why. Songs like this one, "Cradled In Love", and "Sleep" can be heard as harmless songs but also ones dealing with depression, suicide, or simply letting go/losing someone/yourself. And that's why this song had a strong impact on me, because it makes me think that this is a song to all of those who are struggling, that there will always be people to hold you up and get you through to the next day.

I carry out myself like normal day to day but deep inside in the back of my mind I knew I'm alone, empty and depressed. Life will never goes like you planned and hoped for and you will get beat down from time to time. I even thought of suicide even for a brief seconds of my life. For those out there, keep on living as life is precious.

Can we please appreciate how many of their songs tell a story, even if the lyrics sometimes don't always seem quite all together? And just how freaking amazing their music videos are?? And don't forget how talented they are to be able to go from dystopian to thoughtful to horror to hopeful with their music...?!! Especially adding into they've never switched out their lead singer. That's rare, and it's nearly impossible to keep producing GOOD music for as long as these guys have!
@sokinnlife2593 жыл бұрын
Speaking of stories... they are called "Poets" for a reason :P :3
@theSheighani423 жыл бұрын
@@sokinnlife259 They could have picked the name before ending up that awesome, though. Or just were using it as a goal/focus that now fits. And sadly, not all poems tell a story, although most can certainly elicit an emotional response of some sort. But all that aside, I do agree that they have lived up to that part of their name 😁

"Children Of The Sun" Parallel to life There's a wisdom that seems out of reach Like a figure of speech In a maze of white lies So elusive it's hard to recognize With naivety's eyes It's like running with a knife The thought steals away with your peace And high on that trapeze You hold on to me You hold on to me And I'll be singing you Songs of tomorrow And then dawn will follow And our sorrows all undone When you're done with all the strife When they echo the minds in the streets You know your heart beats A solitary call For a change in the tone of it all You'll be scaling that wall And the higher you climb The more you can see of this life On the edge of that knife You hold on to me Hold on to me And I'll be singing you Songs of tomorrow And then dawn will follow And our sorrows all undone Yeah, I'll be singing you Songs of tomorrow And then dawn will follow We are children of the sun And you know you can take this story Take your glory Make your own way Yeah, I want you to shake this story Take your glory Find your way Make your own way And I'll be singing you Songs of tomorrow And then dawn will follow And our sorrows all undone Yeah, I'll be singing you Songs of tomorrow And then dawn will follow We are children of the sun

The most beautiful thing for me was how the footage managed to give meaning to the song, showing that it's not a longer Poets' love song. Poets brings with each of their albums different meanings of love, like seasons ... and this song, this video, brought the love that comes after the pain, as if the pain preceded something good, something beautiful ... just like the insecurity that precedes love; Just as the night that precedes the sun. For me it was a beautiful song that spoke of love, but I could not "dissect" all the meaning and it was as if the video was telling me aaaaaaall of the immense meaning of "sorrow" until the expected arrival of the "sun" .. It looks like it takes you by the hand and says: "Look, it's going to be alright" ... and to understand that was an indescribable feeling, shivering in the end. The blue light at the bottom of the band at the beginning of the video must symbolizes the moon, the night .... that after gives place to the yellow light, symbolizing the day, the sun ... but not only that, as you can interpret that the beginning of the song symbolizes the moon, the night, but from the second chorus the music becomes the day, the sun! Sorry for this moment so thoughtful but I think it's such a simple and gracious work that deserves to be noticed. Such a beautiful job Poets of the Fall.... receive love from Brazil!
