Story wise I think first two games take the lead. Max Payne 3 was fun in gameplay. First two games were fun in stories and gameplay too. Max Payne is the type of series that I love because I am a story guy. That's why I only play single player games and I have played a lot of games. Max Payne story is really depressing. And I like sad stories. I like sad stories with sad ending more that normal or happy ones. The same feeling you feel in Red Dead Redemption 2 in Arthur's story. Life is Strange another masterpiece with sad stories. When I played Life is Strange 1, throughout the whole game I was feeling the sadness that was in Max's and Chloe's hearts and Alex's heart in True colours. Mafia Series have the same touch especially first two. These are the ones I currently can think of. There are many more. Max Payne's writer Sam lake's another masterpiece Alan Wake another great story. And Quantum break is one of the best time travel games. I still have to play Control and am looking forward to it

Decided to boot this game back up and fell in love with it just like it was the first time. I can now confidently say personally, Max Payne 2 is the best third-person shooter ever made. Every single dialogue in this game I've memorized by heart - including those insanely creative in-game TV shows. The music by Poets of the Fall then puts the nail on the coffin.

I have walked hand in hand with all kinds of different darkness. This was also the first song that I learned how to play the rhythm guitar to. Nobody compares .. no one comes close to the music or vocal skill that these boys have brought to us over the last 20 years and I don't think anyone's going to anytime soon. Last few days I spent playing Max Payne 1 & 2. I haven't played them for about 15 years but I remember this song playing at the end. After finishing the game and the song started playing I noticed a few things for the 1st time. During game-play the janitor at Max Payne's building is singing this song before being interrupted by Max as he was investigating the fire started by the cleaners gang. Also as I was reading the credits at the end after finishing the game I read that the creator of the game is the one who wrote the lyrics and what even surprised me more is to find out that the legend Kevin Conroy had a voice role in the game. It's sad how life went on so fast. Now Kevin Conroy left this world and Max Payne 2 is almost 20 years old and those who played the game while they were teenagers (myself included) are now in their 30s. But at least we had great memories created by great people who made a work of art such as this game

Culture wont allow it. Culture is in a degenerate downward spiral. Itll bounce back only after it hits a rock bottom. Common interests are telling of how far society is down the gutter. Autotuned garbage with backround music spat out of a computer algorithm is what the masses wants. Not a good time to be a great artist.

In our headlights, staring, bleak, beer cans, deer's eyes On the asphalt underneath, our crushed plans and my lies Lonely street signs, powerlines, they keep on flashing, flashing by And we keep driving into the night It's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye And we keep driving into the night It's a late goodbye Your breath hot upon my cheeck, and we crossed, that line You made me strong when I was feeling weak, and we crossed, that one time Screaming stop signs, staring wild eyes, keep on flashing, flashing by And we keep driving into the night It's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye And we keep driving into the night It's a late goodbye The devil grins from ear to ear when he sees the hand he's dealt us Points at your flaming hair, and then we're playing hide and seek I can't breathe easy here, less our trail's gone cold behind us Till' in the john mirror you stare at yourself grown old and weak And we keep driving into the night It's a late goodbye, such a late goodbye...

I played the PC Gamer demo for Max Payne way back in the day. My friend actually had a video card that could render it near Max. We were stunned! We used bullet time and the pause to look at the shots being fired in still-shot, the expressions Max had, everything. So much awesomeness from that one game. When MP2 released, I had a good enough rig and I rushed out out buy it. Mona singing this song in the shower ;) after that awesome funhouse level was my first intro to POTF. The closing song sealed it. I loved it. I bought Alan Wake because it was Sam Lake's writing and looked awesome with a different play style. POTF's War was a bonus. God, so much talent crammed into these games, talent that movies cannot do justice. The less mentioned about Wahlberg's mess the better.

I still to this day, vividly remember the moment when I finished max payne 2, it was around midnight and raining outside. I finished both the games in about 3 or 4 days. I remember in the last few comic panels, I saw Max smiling as in he came to terms with what happened to him and accepted it and moved on. He says the line "I had a dream of wife, she was dead, but it was alright", the game ends, screen goes black, Late Goodbye starts playing on the credit screen. I cant explain what I was feeling, maybe some sadness, some hope, but whatever I felt I still remember to this day and no other game or media has made me feel that way. It wasnt a game, it was an truly an experience, and I'm glad I was one of the lucky people to have it.

WE NEED THE MAX PAYNE TRILOGY REMASTERED. Generation defining games right here with some damn good life lessons. EDIT: We got it boys. The remakes are coming❤
@Bafford3 жыл бұрын
Remastering them would only take away their difficulty and charm. Besides Max Payne sells worse than GTA or RDR. Rockstar wouldn't risk putting that much effort into games with potential low sales. And the third game hardly needs a remaster. The only thing it needs in my opinion is to make 70% of the cutscenes playable. This was the most annoying thing in this game. I mean, we can open doors by ourselves, right? We don't need a cutscene for that....
@CliffuckingBooth3 жыл бұрын
@@Bafford Max Payne 3 sold 4 million copies in first week. And more and more people want a sequel. So remaking first two games would have been a great step closer to it. But they need to keep the dark atmosphere of the first game.
