It amazes me how Poets of the Fall are able to present lyrics and music that can be interpreted in so many soul-touching ways. I've seen a lot of comments about how this song is joyful, full of hope, about self-love, etc. But for me it always was one of the saddest songs i've ever heard, one of the few that can make me tear up even after the 100th listen. This song, and this is supported by the video, the story of someone longing for love, the ever-present despair, fear of being rejected, the struggle leading up to admitting feelings to someone special who passes through your dim, gloomy life. The narrator encourages himself through the chorus lines "you are worthy of love, don't be ashamed, don't be afraid". And yet... in the end, she leaves. All that hope, gone. All the light, darkened. All the harmony, dismantled. This song is about hope, but the video crushes it.. Long live PotF, artists who can touch souls are quite rare. You are amongst them.

Jennifer Hall It's really beautiful what music can do cybor hugs to your daughter, I'm glad she found comfort and healing in Poets of the Fall song too. For me it was Dawn, my husband discovered Poets through Allen Wake and as a Valentines gift I was KZbining to see what albums Lift and Carnival of Rust was on and if any other songs where good, which at that point I wouldn't have known music had just become background noise to me, but I fell asleep with the headphones on and heard Dawn in a dream I didn't see my son but I felt he was there, like he was saying Mommy you've mourned me long enough, my dream-self was tore up ugly snotty crying and everything but I jolted awake to "I'll be standing next to you" really loud in my ears and just like that I felt peaceful, and I'm not one to believe in stuff like that but I do believe I heard the song when I needed it, no matter the true meaning of the lyrics it will always have its own meaning to me.

The issue with US radio is that they prefer very catchy songs while label records having an agenda that can blur what the actual artists truly want. As an American, US radio & mainstream Hollywood would instead destroy the identity of POTF, like how many country musicians/artists have become utterly subpar post- 2010s, are more pop now and artistic writing has been dumbed down because these different labels can affect the quality or ability artists can do with their content. The industry & market to many can break many groups who aren't prepare to face other complications adapting to new audiences and marketing by sponsors.

I discovered Poets of the Fall in 2014 with this song. Since then it's my favourite overseas band. Keep doing the outstanding works, POTF.

Love this man's voice and those eyes. Blue eyed Angel Bard. He weaves his songs right into your soul. I think he could make you feel any emotion he chose just by singing. It's almost scary.

I listened to this song for five years loving it every time I heard it, it is a magical song that awakens consciences, whoever listens will no longer be the same person as before, everything changes for the better. I found myself, and I can say that this song helped me to understand who I am, saved me literally, I heard it a thousand times and every time it calmed me down, but only today, I understood the power of that music and the voice, the melody, the context and the intention of someone awake who designed it and my retribution will be to make this band shine brighter than the midday sun.

She gave him the love he always needed and managed to get through all of his guards that kept him from getting close to anybody. He's telling her that even though she is no longer alive in the world, she is still alive in him, essentially "cradled in love".

Guys please share or tell your friends about this band cuz they deserve more fame than they actually get for such great songs that they make =D

I don't think this band make song s to get fame
@serinde19 жыл бұрын
Punit Gandecha Yeah, sure, they mostly just want to do music, but since that's their day job, they'd also like to earn some money from it. More fame would definitely help with that.

I know, right! I still feel so thankful to my friend who introduced me to them! Still there are people out there that will not consider Poets as "good music" though... "Sigh" I don't know what's going on into this world anymore

I always think of the Poets when I see or read about music awards, and how every one of of them has more talent in a finger than all those "award winning artists" combined.
