great first video. from the foresight to correct yourself for a small mistake at 5:45 to the general flow of the video and the nice nature of discussing some ideas was great if that was the goal i would say some cleaner cuts to help with the pacing and filming a few other takes to have options on how you want to deliver something it gives you options to work with when editing and helps correct any tonal dissonance from separate recordings being spliced together
@Jumpn_Jo11 ай бұрын
Thank You!! I was honestly scrambling around to make the video, and editing took a while since I was also learning how to do it. And I watched my video numerous time in the editing process to spot out some mistakes I made and correct them in anyway I could. This was actually all done in one take, I had practiced of course as to not make multiple videos. The awkward pauses were actually me just trying to either catch my breath or quickly glance the next point in my script as to not sound robotic by reading off of it exactly. In hindsight I agree with you and I should've done multiple takes so that I would have options, I will take it into consideration for my next video. Thank You for the insight and advice!!

my hopes for the next gen to be based off of are Brazil, India or China. I would LOVE a China based region so much. Also, as for Geeta, I actually think she's a candidate moreso for India than China. Geeta's unique appearance has led a lot of people to think she's Indian, and her name also contributes to this. This has prompted some to assume that she's Romani. The Romani are an ethnic group originating in India that travelled towards Europe around 1000 years ago. Her name might also take inspiration after the name for Spanish Romani, being "Gitano". This isnt meant to cancel out what was said in the video. Its very much possible that she could be hinting towards both, and that gamefreak has something planned with the two countries (thats what im hoping for lol). Looking forward to seeing your channel grow♥

Yes I agree, when I was first doing research for Gen 10 I was actually looking for things that would hint toward an India based Region. That was all before I was even considering making a video at all! Of course there were stuff, but I fell into a rabbit hole of how much China-inspired stuff there were and the video flew from there. My whole video idea was supposed to be about Geeta, and that was it. I remembered the stuff about Mythical Pokémon being sort of a hint towards the next Gen and it all clicked. It was the perfect cover with the Momotaro tale, it was so Japanese that it couldn't really be anything else until you looked outside the box. There was another comment that said if GameFreak were thinking on a bigger scale, we wouldn't just get a Region but a South Asian Subcontinent as the setting for the next game. It would explain why we've been getting both Chinese-inspired stuff and India-inspired stuff in recent Generations. I'd be so excited if something like that is what we got, as for so long I've wanted an India based Region and now a China based Region. It would be my two hopes combined, and I'd be so happy! Thank You for the wishes!! It is VERY much appreciated! :D

Maybe we aren’t thinking big enough. Pokémon is now in a place where they know people will play an open world game. Maybe we need to think less about regions on a small scale and move to regions on a macro scale. I could potentially see a south Asian subcontinent as the setting for the next Pokémon game. (Obviously not in size) but this idea lends a lot of leeway in many ways. Getting to explore multiple cultural influences. Providing a place of origin for copperajah etc. this is likely a pipe dream, but I think it’s important to have high hopes. Plus I feel like opening up the world a bit more would potentially help game freak to make a more believable and lived in setting.
@Jumpn_Jo11 ай бұрын
Whoa, I really was thinking smaller scale because that sounds so cool! It would make a lot of sense to do that with Gen 10 because the games will likely release in the 30th anniversary year, so something as big as that could be plausible. Especially if you consider we might have a new console by then, therefore more power to be able to do things like that. It would also explain all of the Chinese culture and Indian culture inspired things we've seen for a while. Rather than just get one and the other afterward, just put them in the same game. This all is just making me more excited for what is to come!!

Eh... the whole idea of a region is that it's not a continent, nor a country. I feel like it'd be a step the gamefreak devs would make, and I'd love to see a game that has several regions, in base game not dlc wise, probably based on Eurasian countries, such as India and China. I don't expect it to have 3 or more, China or India have been referenced several times in the pokemon series over the past few generations. I also would like to say: If we do get a China based region: I do hope that arcanine gets another regional variant that makes it a legendary. Maybe steel and fire type, to make it look like a stronger looking version of Hisuian Arcanine. It was said in one of its old dex entries that said it was either worshipped and/or it was legendary in China, I think. It'd also be fun to see pecharunt get itself a better side-story than what we got. I wasn't happy that we just saw it probably sleeping outside peachey's shop, and then bam get a mythical pecha berry? It becomes active if you interact with it. Plus the fact that we never see where the loyal three come from and what they looked like before they became retainers of Pecharunt.

I have thought about China for a long time, but Japan and China kind of dont get along, so my instinct would go to Hong Kong if such a place were ever to be featured in a pokemon game. Since hong kong is a little bit more alligned with Japan's values if I understand correctly.

Pokemon doesn't really get involved in politics, so hopefully this isn't a border for India or China to be regions as they both have great potential and already have pokemon attached to them. Maybe the gigantic poke ball in Shanghai could be a diplomatic plus? Lol.
@Jumpn_Jo11 ай бұрын
Yes I agree, it would be weird but the US and Japan also had some shaky relations (hint: WW2). And I know they're allies now but the history is there, similar to Japan and China. Overall it didn't stop them from using Chinese mythology in multiple games.

Yea, I don't know what could be causing the white/static noise in the background. I turned off anything that was making clear noise to me, I guess it more so has to do with me recording with my iPad rather than a camera or anything. I'm just starting out after all. But anyway, what did you think about how these points come together? Do you think it potentially amounts to something, or just coincidence?
@therealdrogane10 ай бұрын
@Jumpn_Jo Politcally Pokemon cannot do a Chinese region because of the ultimate backlash of making said game. However, they can put Chinese influences in without overstepping those lines. Likely Pokemon Regions for Gen 10 currently is the Netherlands, Italy or something else.
@Jumpn_Jo10 ай бұрын
@@therealdrogane Honestly, I see your point but I gotta say it's probably a non-factor. Pokémon hasn't ever really let politics get in the way of their games. More than that though, Shanghai (the biggest city in China) has a Giant Pokéball in it. I feel like this alone would show that a video game series doesn't really interfere with anything regarding politics. Otherwise that giant Pokéball would never have been allowed in Shanghai, yet here we are. Plus with that giant Pokéball as a real life sight, GameFreak would totally take the opportunity to make it an actual landmark in this would-be game. There isn't any real evidence to suggest a Netherlands region, and if China really is off the table I'd say India is next in line and then Italy for likelihood.

India has good chances, since it's a well known and culturally rich nation, but China seems to be more likely. There's a lot of pokemon whom draw from the nation's mythology, not just from gen 9 either, and just like India it has a rich culture to draw from. Japan has a thick history with China, both good and bad, so it's a matter of time honestly.
