lately for me Ive been getting kicked out of raids, the app crashes constantly and there’s a lag for nearly everything.

That's true for me. I play on SE iPhone 2016 and it constantly crashes when raiding. Always before the raid starts, during the raid, or right when it finishes. If it crashes right before the raid disappears I get robbed from the raid encounter!!! So I never raid if it's less than 5 minutes to do the raid. It really sucks!

As a person with an older phone I can say that ever since the new visual update happened I can't scroll through my pokemon list without having lags, which wasn't the case before the update. Even after turning the new "Enhanced graphics: setting off I still can't catch a pokemon in more than 30 fps. I really love the game and I probably won't quit but it's sad that I can't play because I can't afford a better phone.

Have people with older phones find it heating up a lot more never mind the fact it takes so much more power. I carry a battery now had to find a new small bag.

@@louisedykes4794 in my case the phone was always heating while playing pokemon go it just got a bit worse with the update and when it comes to battery I always have two batteries just in case so it's not that bad but still the problems you mentioned became bigger with the update

I've never seen GBL perform so poorly. Previously it was common to experience a hiccup from time to time but now it seems like connections drop more consistently or a lag spike happens causing me to do an extra fast move instead of throwing the charge move resulting in a loss. I don't have a weak phone either.

I know people that spend money on remote passes to raid and before the raid ends they're game crashes and they lose they're pass and everything else from the raid

To be honest this glitch has been around for over a year, when remote passes were cheaper, this would happen however the costs were lower and you could do more than 5 remotes a day, so when they nerfed remotes, it really hurt because remotes are double the price and limit is set to 5, so it is a lose lose, lose a costly remote and now you are 1 less remote pass from your total of 5 for the day - Niantic please fix this game, next survey you give us, ask us more details other than would you recommend this game and how you do like the game!

@@Polaroxide Yeah for local passes it is possible - we did raid hour last week with about 15 people and almost all of us got kicked out at some point and the only time you could not get back into raid was after it reset

After the update, I could not really even play, gps was messed up routes would not work, no ball throw control, etc. I just ended up discarding my android phone and got an apple iphone 11 and now all seems ok and works well. Thanks for calling them out on this. They just told me my device was not supported.

By the way, raid hour is not raid hour, it is raid 50 minutes, the spawns are now set for 25 minutes, then at the 30 minute mark the gyms reset - we could get 1-2 more raids in if they did not cut the time from 30 to 25

I get annoyed with getting abruptly kicked out of the game several times a day especially during party play or trading. What I don’t understand they can’t fix after 8+ years is how you catch a Pokémon and it still remains on the screen.

I'll certainly agree that the game does seem to crash more often. I run it on an iPhone 13 and yesterday, during the community day, I was getting quite a few crashes - especially when trying to join a raid lobby while I was in a party. It wasn't just me, as some other people had similar issues. I do agree that you need a very good QA department, but it shouldn't be just that. There is considerable value to be had by having some actual players beta-test releases. While forcing players in a geographic region to test new features, I think it may work well if Niantic has a proper player beta test program, where you can have players test these new features out in the world and then have a direct line back to Niantic to report bugs back - whether it be to do with the new features, or other bugs that are found.

I'm glad for some of the new updates like Biomes, but the game has been much worse from a bug/glitch standpoint. I have two huge problems with the game though right now. I'm on a Galaxy Z Flip5. 1) The game loads and freezes immediately. I can't change my view, click on anything, or just do anything. I've had instances where I reset the game 2, 3, 4 times and it loads but freezes. Never had this before the last month or so... 2) I am losing balls at a much higher rate than I used to via throwing. Like I touch the screen and I lose the ball and sometimes when I pull back, the ball throws on its own. I understand glitches and bugs happen, but Niantic needs to get better QA!

I have multiple samsung and iphone devices. Iphones always crash in raids and routes and some random play. Given iphone still hasnt surpassed 4gb ram in 2024 says something though...

This has been the most undesirable time to play the game. Minus events, spawns and rewards. I’ll usually play my through slow parts of the game. But all aspects of the game has been glitchy and unplayable

Kinda honestly feels like they build the game patch new data on top of existing game function instead of occasionally going through it to purge old game code/data that is junk. Theoretical example: the data to run the buddy interaction in the old mode could technically exist but new data patch turns it off and pushes new mode.

@4:10 Jinsula, QA is one of the most under appreciated staff for game development, even if they had QA they wouldn't fix the issues or listen to feedback. Niantic from the sounds of it uses outsourced QA, if any at all. Which are treated even worse. Niantic most likely only has a bare bones staff at this rate after the layoffs.

Your right count! We should have an option to toggle background rendering. Like google maps, we should be able to dumb it down with simple graphics or high end resolution. On a side note it was difficult for me to play on com day because grass pokemon blended with the grass!!! Argh 😤

I use a Samsung phone to play with two accounts with dual screen. It was going fine up until the bioms update. Now my phone overheat like crazy in jusy 30-40 minutes of playing with both accounts. Has anybody have the same experience?

For some dumb reason, beach biome encounters and mythical research encounters are fine and smooth but everywhere/thing else is laggy af, even with native refresh rate turned on.

Idk what the issues may be but my phones from 2016 and it seems to work fairly well apart from the remote raid invite freeze bug on occasion. Definitely hear about more issues but the root of them seems uncertain

You seem alot chipper in this video, so I'm glad Jins! I have an old S9 and turn off all the extra features like AR and native refresh rate and still it's a crashing mess. I just wish the biome update had a super low res option with static bg's for players who don't care if the trees sway in the wind, maybe that would fix the never-ending lag/freezes and hopefully fix lag in pvp as well.

Anything this brain dead company does messes this game up. I never seen a company that constantly have problems everytime they make a stupid update. They dont test nothing before releasing it world wide how can they when they fired half of there employees and dont even take the time to listen and they do follow feedback niantic just dont care because they know new people will play and then the next and so on. The whole game is in shambles i cant even do a daily incense without it kicking me out and i lose 2-3 minutes off of my incense everytime i do it or it will just lag and i cant even click on the pokemon and then it goes away it just stupid. You cant even do pvp its so bad and i love pvp but all this and niantic still wont care. I have a feeling they are sabatoging this game on purpose so they can focus on a new game or something. At this i just wish a new company stepped in that cared and listen. Call of duty was the same way then the developers started to listen to its community now call of duty gets pretty cool skins and what not why cant niantic just listen thats all they have to do. How do these content creators make videos praising these frauds as if the game all glamours and what not when the game sucks right now with everything going on.
