"Dawn got interrupted trying to interrupt us!" It's interruptception! Making Dawn out to be such a jerk... hmmmm, ah, yes, that brings back excellent memories. Excellent, stalkerish memories. Like, seriously, why does she always seem to show up?! It's crazy! I think the way you've brought attention to the Barry fanboy is hilarious. I NEVER noticed that guy before! In the last episode (err, FIRST episode?!) it was great how you had him repeat himself, but like, the story has now evolved with him. He's like my new favorite background character. Barry fanboy for life! Oh man, too bad Dawn's Piplup wasn't female. It's SO AWKWARD when she uses a female starter in the tutorial battle, but it's then male later on. I've had that happen to me a few times and I always crack up. (It actually happened in my Platinum Let's Play way, waaaayy back in 2009!) Starly- now THAT is amazing. Oh man, it's just such an unbelievable early encounter. Why did Starly have to be SO MUCH BETTER than Bidoof?! It's night and day difference. Even though Bidoof is an adorable derp. Dawn laying down the salt, "You'd be safer if you had a lot more." SHE'S ONE TO TALK. Another great episode, but I'm looking forward to seeing you CLOWN AROUND TOWN WITH SOME CLOWNS next time!

I always felt I was an imposter in my own body, and that showed through hiding interests like this video, especially since a lot of people would consider this content "childish" Instead, I learned to embrace this side of myself, which revealed that I was already the person I wanted to be, and that helped me jumpstart learning how to go embrace adversity. I still have a lot to work on personally, but I am proud of myself for the journey and challenges I have overcome. Thank you for sharing mate, this series, along with many of Chuggaa's others have brought joy to my life, and I'm glad that he can spread that to you as well :)

Looker is so good. It’s a joy to see him in the subsequent games, and even if he can be a bit incompetent at times, it’s nice to feel like there’s an actual adult helping you with the world-destroying criminals. And he’s especially great in X and Y, to the point where I prefer his and Emma’s story much more than the main one. Heck, I prefer him and Emma as characters much more than the friends you have in the main story. I miss him, but I’m glad we haven’t seen him since them. I feel like his story ended in Kalos.

You DO realize Dawn's Piplup could have NOT come from Professor Rowan? This isn't Dawn from the anime, as she was the obligatory game protagonist character. So, Platinum Dawn could have gotten Piplup from anywhere. Maybe an egg from a trainer who has a Piplup evolutionary line pokemon? Or, taking a... darker route, her original partner pokemon passed away, so she's training a Piplup as her new partner? That would kind of explain her... less than warm personality, as well as why she's "more experienced." {I'm probably thinking *way* too deep into this.}

How are you sure that Piplup is Dawn's only Pokemon? She might be Rowan's assistant because she really does have more experience on the field. Who's to say she doesn't have other Pokemon stored in her PC? Maybe she heard about you and Barry and, after the two of you picked your starters, asked Rowan if she could take Piplup so it didn't feel left out. After taking Piplup to care for, she deposited her other Pokemon in the PC so the novice trainers didn't feel intimidated and decided to follow the two of you on your adventure in order to look after you.

I've been hoping for this playthrough for about a year. I'm so excited! Now, my hope is that you pick some of the more unconventional choices for your team. Looker is one of my favorite characters in the Pokemon series. The fact that he has appeared in every main series title since this one speaks volumes of his popularity. I also think its funny that his Japanese name is "Handsome".

The line, "Don't be a thief!" pops up when you tried to use a Pokeball on a trainer's pokemon in some games. Recently, they've removed that option altogether, but I think using _that particular line_ to describe a pokemon thief is a nice reference, since Looker was pretty much talking about Team Galactic there.

Can I just gush for a bit about the music in this game? Soundtracks can sell games for me (RSE is my favourite Pokemon game, but DPP is my favourite music wise). I remember closing my SP and putting it under my pillow to listen to the RSE music as I slept. Pokemon music is always so amazing, they sound alike but at the same time, completely different. The music in this game makes me remember when my DS broke and I convinced my mom to buy me a new one. I brought Diamond with me so I could play it on the drive home. It's so nice to have such a lax game with such a fantastic soundtrack, it's like all of the good things about gaming bundled into one game. Discuss Pokemon music?

There is another status to be wary of not mentioned in the trainer's school for some odd reason. Confusion! If your Pokémon is confused, then you have a 50% to hurt it rather than the opposing Pokémon (this wasn't changed until Generation 8 where it was lowered to a 33% rather than a 50% chance). Same goes for the opposite. No stats are affected unless you or someone else uses Swagger, a normal type move that buffs the attack by two stages but confuses the opposing Pokémon and Flatter, a dark type move which has the same effect, but it's special attack bu two stages rather than attack. You can use a focus sash to prevent the confused Pokémon from fainting as well! The moves which can inflict confusion are: Swagger and Flatter, two status moves I already mentioned with one raising attack by two stages and the other raising special attack by two stages but confuses the opposing Pokémon. Swagger, much like leer and other normal status inflict moves can affect ghost It will also hit Pokémon even if they have +6 attack/special attack or contrary with -6 attack. Chatter, a flying type special move we may see during this LP where depending on the volume of the recording may cause confusion. Confuse Ray, a ghost type status move that confuses the opposing Pokémon outright. It affects normal types as well. Confusion, a psychic type special move that has a 10% chance to inflict confusion. Dizzy Punch, a fighting type physical move with a 20% chance to inflict confusion. The more powerful Dynamic Punch, another fighting type physical move with a complete chance to inflict confusion if it hits. Unlike Dizzy Punch, this move has a low 30% chance so don't expect to hit this too much. But when it hits, it's really powerful with a power of 100. Hurricane, a flying type special move and a dang good move as well. It has a 30% chance it inflict confusion and has a power of 110 (it was probably 120 at some point). It also has a 70% chance to hit, so you won't miss as much as you would think. Psybeam, another psychic type special move where it's the same as confusion, just more powerful. Rock Climb, a normal, not rock, type physical move that we will see for sure as it's an HM move in Generation 4. It has a 20% chance to inflict confusion. Secret Power, a normal type physical move which has a 30% chance to inflict confusion. It's not as powerful as Rock Climb, but it has 100% accuracy unless lowered by accuracy affecting moves like Sand Attack. Only in Generation 3 has it where if you are on a rocky surface, you may inflict confusion. Shadow Panic, a shadow type status move? We'll skip over that one since i have a feeling like it's not main series. Either way, it's like Teeter Dance, so nothing too special. Signal Beam, the bug type cousin of Psybeam where it also has a 10% chance of inflicting confusion and is a special move. Strange Stream (which I believe is Generation 8), a fairy type, not that we'll be seeing those here, special move with a 20% chance to inflict confusion. Supersonic, a normal type status move where it's basically just the normal type version of Confuse Ray. Much like Swagger, it also hits ghost types. Sweet Kiss, another fairy type status move which I believe is normal in this game as fairy didn't exist in this Generation, where it's a more accurate Supersonic and Confuse Ray. I believe it can also inflict sleep although that may be another move I'm thinking of. In this Generation it does hit ghost types Teeter Dance, a normal type status move where it hits all adjacent Pokémon. It hits ghost types and is a double edged sword in double or triple battles. And lastly Water Pulse, a water type special move with a 20% chance to inflict confusion. The moves I didn't mention were G-Max Gold Rush and G-Max Smite, as we won't be seeing those especially in this game. Just know that one is normal and the other is Fairy and both have 100% chance it inflict confusion.

I am soooo excited you are playing platinum, Chugga!! I do agree with you on the tutorials. I get why the developers did that but for some people who have played the game since R/B/Y days and understand how to catch Pokemon, it would be easier if they can just add it as an option, that way if newcomers want to learn how to catch they can watch the tutorial but experienced Pokemon trainers can skip it.

This is my favorite series so far
