They feel less like older Pokémon that had simpler color pallets and details. I’m not overly upset about it but I prefer the designs from gens 3-5 as to recent designs. Also some evolutions have just been lazy like pawmi’s evolutions and the amount of 1-stage evolutions compared to previous games. It feels like they’re withholding quite a bit and that they focused far more effort into the story, cutscenes, and map

From what I understand, It’s technically not an evolution when the switch out then back into it again. It’s called Hero Form. It’s an ability in battle. Think back to SWSH that female rival’s mouse, how it had a nice and mean form. That’s what I think what it’s based on.
