This is honestly one of the coolest story ideas Pokemon has had in a while. It's nice seeing all the old evil team leaders again, and the whole inter-dimensional portal thing isn't even shoehorned in like that kind of thing often is. Alternate dimensions have been cannon to the series since gen 6 (gen 4 if you count the Distortion World), and were a central plot point in Alola.

This can be it’s own game to be honest. Stopping all the evil teams throughout the game and realized that this much bigger than you expected. Since it’s multiple teams you’re going up against, with the help of your rival and maybe gym leaders, it’s not enough to take down this massive threat. Until, more portals open up. You’re expecting more trouble but out comes the rivals from other games. Blue, Silver, Brendan and May (depending on what version of the game you have), Wally, Barry, Cheren, Bianca, Hugh, Calem and Serena (depending on what version), Hau, Hop, Bede, and Marnie with Team Yell

Is there an actual need for Sinnoh remakes? FR/LG: R/S/E had no backwards compatibility, which would make completing the National Dex impossible. HG/SS: Same reason as FR/LG.
