Is it though? The only thing that points to that conclusion is that it looks like Mega Salamence, and AI Sada claimed that the Machine was one of Time Travel... but it being a Time Machine has one fatal flaw: none of the Past Paradoxes have any concrete in-game mentioned proof of them existing in the distant past, with one of them even being directly mentioned to not have any evidence of existing at all, that being Slither Wing in one of the Occulture magazine articles you can find in Scarlet... What's more, there is no proof any paradoxes actually lived in the crater other than the Scarlet/Violet Book, no mention anywhere else in the game of any of them being in the crater before the machine got built, and in fact it is unlikely the machine would have been created in the first place if they were, since it was only created so that the Professor could see with their own eyes the creatures from the Book they were so obsessed with. That combined with the fact that the Professor AI IIRC mentions that the machine is the source of all the Paradox Pokemon, which implies that there isn't another source in the crater, which might mean that they DID NOT already live in the crater when the research stations were built in it 87 or so years prior.... which casts the Scarlet/Violet Book being true into doubt. Of course, it could be time travel... but it also might not be, or not just time travel due to the lack of evidence of any of them once existing... it could be alternate timeline traveling, Imagination being made manifest by something, or some other theory, though I am near certain that the DLC will reveal the truth one way or another.

I feel like the theme explains the situation of this part of the game perfectly. I’m Scarlet, the area and the Pokémon are more prehistoric and so the loud drums in this theme is appropriate and mimics large dinosaurs walking the earth or early cultures of civilization. The techno base and synth waves can be interpreted as the players because to them, WE are the future almost like we traveled through time. The same can be flipped for Violet. The Pokémon are more mechanical and portable for human use so the synth waves and base is an obvious for machinery and technology functioning in combat but the drums are interpreted as us the players. It’s a creative theme that can be played in both versions and because of that, it’s the best wild battle theme no question.

We can't be certain how brutal and tragic the natural order of life was in prehistoric times. We don't exactly know what kind of disasters or futuristic inventions will exist in the future. A few of the future ones are even speculated to be alien weapons/spies. It's the fear of the unknown from both time periods, made manifest into the present. The scariest thing about the Paradoxes is that most of them have the same BSTs as the four Treasures of Ruin - 570. If they had gotten out of Area Zero, they would have absolutely decimated all of Paldea. It's implied that it took armies of Pokemon trainers to seal just the four Treasures away. Now, imagine a horde of such Pokemon POURING out of the Great Crater.
@notshockwavedemon7543 Жыл бұрын
I feel like lore wise, Paradox Pokemon are stronger than what their 570 bst implies. Game's story emphasizes how they do not belong in our world and would cause disaster should they break out of Area Zero
@JanusHoW Жыл бұрын
@@notshockwavedemon7543 Well, going by their Abilities as well, the Treasures are probably just a little more dangerous. For example, Chi-Yu is technically the most powerful Special Attacker in the Paldea Dex, since its Beads of Ruin reduces the Special Defense of all other Pokemon on the field by 25%, effectively increasing its already impressive 135 base to 168.75. Only Hoopa-Unbound will have more once it's released via Pokemon HOME, and only by 1.25 points.

One of my favourites of the new Pokémon is actually Iron Valiant. I find it very interesting that, initially, I couldn’t identify whether it was a Future form of Gardevoir or Gallade. It was when I realised it was actually BOTH of them at once that made it one of my favourites. You can tell that was the intention by its cry. It’s a Robotic Fusion between two members of an evolution line. What’s NOT to love?
@milk_choc7889 Жыл бұрын
It's also specifically the Mega versions of both-you can tell because its counterpart is based on Mega Salamence, and also because of design details like the glaive forming from arm-blades in Megallade's design.
@FrostGlader Жыл бұрын
@@milk_choc7889 personally, I don’t think that’s the case. While Roaring Moon is clearly similar to Mega Salamance, Iron Valiant has pretty much only a few design cues from the Mega’s of its Modern Day counterparts, notably the Arms are from both of them. Besides that, it’s Dress is smaller than Mega Gardevoir’s and has the Green inside of the standard Gardevoir, and it’s Head Spike is straight as opposed to Mega Gallade’s being curved. Perhaps the chest lacking colour is also a Mega Trait, same with the hair, but I’d argue that it’s a simple fusion with certain Mega Design cues, rather than being _specifically_ based on the Mega’s.
@LittleBigPlanetian Жыл бұрын
@@FrostGlader Nope, Iron Valiant really is supposed to be based on Gardevoir/Gallade with traces of their Mega form. They're a direct counterpart to Roaring Moon and serve as the oddball out of the paradox mons (higher BST than the rest, last mon professor uses during their battle, they spawn more rarely than the other paradox mons, and they explicitly have traces of their Mega forms with RM being obvious and IV invoking the image of M Gallade's cape and M Gardevoir's dress with it's lower body in addition to sharing M Gallade's arm blades)
@FrostGlader Жыл бұрын
@@LittleBigPlanetian how many people think a LITERAL DRESS is like a cape. It isn’t and will never be, especially because it has nothing to do with Mega Gallade’s Cape and looks nothing like it. Said dress also isn’t similar at all to Mega Gardevoir’s, who has a wide, and pure white dress. It’s clearly based on Standard Gardevoir’s dress, with its green inside and thinner structure. It only opens wider to either showcase Iron Valiant’s legs and torso, or is a intentional design cue meant to benefit the robot in combat. The seperate segments point to the latter. Only the chest and Arms, and MAYBE the hair, are from the Megas. For the Arms it’s clearly from both Megas: the blades attached look like Gallade, but when the blades are a weapon they look like Gardevoir’s. I fully believe it’s a fusion, which alone makes the Pokémon stand out among the other Future Paradox Pokémon, with simple designs cues from the Mega Evolutions to make the design cleaner. Perhaps the Mega Gallade Blade’s was because Iron Valiant’s design was lacking in a Glow that the other Future Paradoxes had, which is notably only in its chest spike and hair when you ignore the arms. It’s 100% a Roaring Moon Counterpart, I’m not denying and have never denied that.
@sumthinorother9615 Жыл бұрын
@@FrostGlader I’ve been inspired to conspiracy board the whole design. Let’s go. Legs are Gallade/mega gallade, along with the waist and upper body. Notably, the shoulders lack any green which would be present on the non-mega forms. The hair is a running motif across all Ralts evolutions, so this is where a lot of the fusion stuff seems to be going on. Gallade deemphasizes the lower curl in exchange for more puffed out white tufts. Valiant, for their part, has very emphasized lower curls as well as puffed out tufts. The tufts appear at the angle that non-mega Gardevoir has them, but there are only two spikes rather than the three that usually appear in Gardevoir variants. The pigtails have no clear analogue; they’re closest to Kirlia, bizarrely. The hair color contains no blue, which each Gallade does. The fun part now, that lower shell thing. I’ll preface this by saying: functionally, it’s a cape. It’s there to look cool, to flow in the wind, it drapes behind the body and covers nothing. It’s worn on the hips, but there’s no real term for a totally open skirt, as near I can tell. _(Someone_ is selling a waist cape, but it doesn’t seem like a very widespread term. Plus it’s a cape.) Now! Why is it there. Where even is there? At first, I had assumed it connected where it connected, directly on the hips. This would make it more a parallel to Mega Gardevoir’s hoop skirt, as opposed to the empire silhouette employed by the normal form. The edges though, jut up past the point at which they connect, which could be interpreted to mean they’re supposed to connect higher. It’s one of those robot things, like the black parts, that we just have to assume aren’t relevant I’m bored of writing this now, so, in conclusion, Iron Valiant is a fusion of Mega Gallade and Jenny Wakeman from My Life as a Teenage Robot. This explains the weird pigtail things, is another explanation for the waist cape placement, and explains why the body and legs take so little from Gardevoir. The curls are from the MLaaTR art style. As a bonus, Valiant has weirdly vertical eyes that are hard to rationalize for Gardevoir or Gallade. They were from Jenny all along…

It makes for such great musical storytelling to go from Area Zero Overworld to the Battle theme to the Paradox Battle theme and then the Final Boss theme. Honestly, I find the futuristic Paradox Pokémon so fascinating. We'll probably never get a mainline or spinoff game that explores that far in the future, so we just have to speculate what it must look like based off what we see. I like the implication that all of these Pokémon are, in fact, man-made or artificial in some way which raises a lot of questions. They're designs are so uniform that it can be assumed they were created by the same entity (all of them have some kind of liquid element and LED eyes) but not all of them are 1:1 with their modern counterparts. It feels like with Pokémon like Iron Thorns or Iron Jugulis, whoever made them stuck pretty close to the script. They're pretty dang close, like they were going based right off of the source. Iron Valiant and Miradon, on the other hand, are widely different from their originals. Iron Valiant is like a mashup of the Mega Gallade/Gardevior and Miradon looks nothing like Cyclizar or even a Koraidon. It's practically its own creature. I like to think that whoever is making these started with the intention of simply reproducing modern day Pokémon as accurately as possible, but over time they couldn't help but start to let their own vision bleed in. Creating novel solutions for aspects that wouldn't work well in practice (How do you make proportionately giant hands without compromising the integrity of the machine?-Make them float; How do you design something with legs that's meant to also roll like a wheel?-Make the legs retractable) brought them inspiration to create new beings with the loosest inspiration from those that came before. Somebody in the future is playing god, essentially, and literally designing their own lifeforms. It's crazy.
@wrathfulseviper Жыл бұрын
Iron Jugulis’ Pokédex entry claims it had come to be because a Hydreigon procreated with a machine. The Violet Book claims that Iron Thorns is a being clad in metallic armor, implying it has become a Cyborg by natural causes, which is in fact a strange form of evolution. Iron Moth is stated to be from outer space. The Violet Book theorizes it’s a device from outer space meant to spy on humanity. Heath outright calls it a UFO in the book, and further theorized that Iron Moth’s only purpose is to collect information for a future “alien invasion”, as its only reported assaulting and following humans. Iron Hands is heavily argued among Heath’s team to be a person that went through technological enhancements. Only two Future Pokémon were said to be created by humans, Iron Bundle and Iron Valiant. And Iron Bundle is theorized to be from PAST HUMANS. Heath said he found earlier blueprints of Iron Bundle’s design, and traced it to a “long-gone civilization”. **Conclusion:** All Paradox Future Pokémon are confirmed to be from different points in time, with Iron Thorns being the furthest in the future, 1 Billion years ahead. Past Paradox Pokémon are also from different time periods, as a few come from the Dinosaur era, with the exception of Sandy Shocks being 10,000 years old, and Slither Wing not being present in any point in history according to fossil evidence. Scream Tail could also be an exception since chronologically, 1 Billion years is too far back, Earth didn’t exist for us 1 Billion years ago, but we don’t know how the Pokémon world works, so Scream Tail could still have existed with the other Paradox prehistoric Pokémon. Paradox Pokémon are confusing and incomprehensible. But that’s what Paradox means, so…

@@wrathfulseviper I take the Violet/Scarlet books with a grain of salt because they're only speculative, even within the game. The Pokedex is the same, due to having an established author of the current time period. It wouldn't and couldn't give us any more accurate information than the books could. Though they can give us clues about what the devs may want us to consider, they're far from conclusive sources.

@@sammyi2505 It’s irrational to argue against Heath and the Violet/Scarlet Book’s. Everything he wrote should be backed up by the evidence he found, such as the fossil evidence of Past Paradox Pokémon, and blueprints of Future Paradox Pokémon.
