I'm glad the Chomp is back. With Genesect running around everywhere, Jolly Scarf is a really good set to use because it outspeeds Genesect and OHKOs with Fire Fang.

I like chomp being ou, he isn't as overpowered as before now that sandveil is gone, but he is still good, definitely going to be top 10 in usage :]

I think it's about time. I did some tests with Garchomp (though it was in-game so might not apply) with sand veil in sand and even holding brightpowder as well, with opponent's 75% accuracy moves still hitting it most of the time.

I sort of have this nostalgic feeling now that Garchomp is back in OU. Because back in Gen 4 before it was banned, it was A LOT of fun to use, and I remember myself using it constantly on Shoddy Battle, which was the big battle simulator back then. I'm really happy that it's back, and I think it will be a great check to a lot of threats in OU, because of it's great movepool and stats. :)

Mainly due to the fact that while it was at the top in OU, in Ubers, it was generally subpar. With the new stuff added in BW2 (mainly stuff like Regenerator Lugia), Garchomp was brought back down.

It wasn't really an exception as much as a backhanded way of bring it back. Sand veil and snow cloak were banned under evasion clause (which I've been waiting for) so rough skin chomp became the only viable option which thus brought Garchomp down to OU. It was basically a way of bringing down Garchomp without technically making a complex ban.

It's going to be a top tier poke, definitely, but not broken. If anything, we might see some more tier changes as people start to use lower-tier things to counter Chomp, like Bronzong.

I think garchomp works in ou. There's plenty of things to take them on, so as long as it doesn't have sand veil which is banned, it's alright

Chomp is just a regular dragon without Sand Veil its not that hard to deal with. Things are a lot faster than gen 4 as well as hit harder. so its no big.

Rough Skin Garchomp should defiantly come to OU, especially since faster pokes now exist such as scarfed Terrakion, looking at it from a purely based speed perspective. Resistance to Twave is also a big plus for Garchomp IMO.

In answer to your question Xenon, you may know my opinion from quite a while back where I asked for your thoughts on it being suspect tested, I feel it's fine for Chomp to be OU, because I'll be honest, I never really have trouble with him, if he becomes a common threat, it just means you need to pack something with priority (preferrably Ice Shard), and a scarf in the event of Yache berry, Chomp is much weaker now than Gen4, so he should certainly be OU.

Garchomp...well, mence is definitely gonna go down in usage, as is d-nite. D-nite is still useful as a bulkier dragon, though. Garchomp is definitely the top OU dragon now. I think getting rid of evasion abilities was a good choice. They're just too luck-based.

Hey I've just started pokemon again reliving my childhood and im in to trading at the moment building my squad to try and be like you but besides the point..How do you do lvl 100 battles with 6 pokemon it seems to only let me do lvl 50 ones even if I have a full group of level 100's (ds)?

Without sand vail garchomp can't exscape attacks making it much easyer to handle and also in the curent OU there are pokes that do garchomps jobs better terakion is a better SD use because its faster and landorus as well as genesect are better scarfers because they have u-turn

Without sand veil, chomp is not broken. We knew that in gen 4. Also, everyone, stfu about blaze blaziken and rand rush exca. You don't just tier different abilities on pokes, the tier system would be a giant mess. If you wand those back, you have to prove that speed boost and rand rush are broken abilities. Sand veil is a broken ability, so it was banned and because sand veil was the reason chomp was banned it came back.
