POKEMON MYSTERIES: THE HG/SS CELEBI EVENT NINTENDO NEVER RELEASED

Pokemon Nintendo Events have been around since the beginning of the series, and hundreds of Pokemon, items, and updates have been given away. Among all the Pokemon event distribution cartridges, only one was never intended to be released. Today we're going to take a look at the unreleased winter Celebi. All you have to do is save at the corner store and re-enter the street to SR life & force an encounter. You have better chances during the day, it won't work if you do it at night. The shopkeep will call the cops on you 😂

Distribution carts really are a cool part of PKMN history. I noticed that this one's wonder card cannot be downloaded if you've already downloaded the other Celebi (the one that was actually distributed), so the two wonder cards must have the same code or something.

These videos are so cool, but they always remind me of how I missed out on so many events. I went to do the celebi and shiny dogs events but the GameStop employee told me that it wouldn’t work with my DSlite. I begged my mom to get me a DSi, but by the time I got one it was already in the BW era :(

I actually have the unreleased version. I went for the Celebi event at Gamestop when I was a kid, but I remember vividly that some older dude was there, but I didn't think much of it. Turns out that guy probably asked one of the associates to change the clock to get the unreleased version just like in this video, and I just so happened to be there at the right place at the right time to get it as well. Thanks for the awesome history video!

This was a GameStop event. I did it as a kid. If your owned HeartGold or SoulSilver and preordered Black or White, then you could come in and get a Celebi. I had one and had a legit Celebi. Then you transfer it to black. I remember this event in game and freaking out about it when I saw it, as I wasn’t expecting it.

That is insane that you found an ACTUAL cartridge. Color me impressed. I've become a collector of Pokemon Main Series Games (I have all the ones that are released in physical form, I don't count LGE/LGP as main series). The only thing close that I have to even owning a copy* is that I have all the shiny Legendary Dogs and a Celebi that were released from events that were transferred onto game carts that I had bought. *tips off imaginary hat*

Pretty sure you can legally sell the distribution cartridges under the first-sale doctrine. In 2008 a federal judge ruled that promo CDs that have similar "not for resale" labels could legally be sold.

I actually remember an animated promotional trailer for the event Celebi and Zorua playing in a theater when I was a kid. I remember begging my mom to let me go to game stop to get it but she said she didn’t want to pay for a monster for my video game. TBH I didn’t know it was free back then either.

I have this Celebi!!! When I was a kid I went on the GTS and searched for celebi. Luckily some guy was only asking for a Ninjask higher than level 79. As someone who used action replay I immediately went to go catch a nincada and then rare candied it. This took 20 min total but I remember when I logged onto the gts and I saw it was still there I was so happy. I still have the celebi in my soul silver cartridge refusing to transfer it to newer games in memory of that moment. I skipped out on the Zorua event in white version too even tho I wanted it so badly but that’s how much I promised myself not to transfer it.

My older brother got me Celebi during the event. We made a trip out of it to the mall where the GameStop used to be in my town. I've never restarted the game, so I still have it. We didn't go in time for the other three, though

John, the channels on the cart coincide with wifi channels. Each channel (normally 1-14) has a slightly different frequency, this stop interference of wifi signals from several sources. The reason you only see 13 in this case is that each cart was region free and some regions didn't use channel 14 on the 2.4 ghz band, which is what the DS uses. specifically 2.4ghz 802.11b for the DS and lite, and for the DSi and DSi XL 2.4ghz 802.11b and g. I hope that helps! Great video!

pretty sure the time travel event (and a bunch of other events) is triggered by the fateful encounter flag on certain event mons like that celebi, not the ball or the ribbon. other than that i really liked this video and hope you can do more :D

I just got myself a shiny Celebi from the virtual console Celebi. Shortly after getting it, I realized that I never saw Celebi in gen 4 so I searched this out of curiosity

This Celebi-Event was released here in Germany. It wasn't over Gamestop tho, but they (Nintendo) came to some McDonald's spread over the country, put up a big Banner which explained how to get Celebi and stayed there for the whole day. Then they drove to the next city and next McDonald

It was technically official since just changing the date on the distribution ds could give it to you, no code change needed and the employees were even told to set the distribution ds date to get the dogs
