Dude, I cannot thank you enough for making this! Within the past week and a half, I used the traditional shiny method for trying to find my Zangoose, but it didn't get me anywhere. But with this method, I found my shiny Zangoose within TWENTY MINUTES. THANK YOU. Thanks to you, I have my favorite Pokemon in its shiny form and it's my number one Pokemon! Yo just a heads up people need to address one minor thing there is one other thing that can break a chain and is complete BS if a Pokemon has an ability like teleport for example Abra and ralts and they use teleport that breaks the chain no one else is specified it in a video so I figured I would drop that information here

I know people say the chain doesn’t matter, it’s actually pretty helpful to KO the Pokémon rather than run because while chaining, whenever you press the search button, Pokémon will ALWAYS appear. So hunts will be much faster.

chain doesnt matter in regards of shiny pokemon, using the dexav at all gives you a boosted rate to find shiny pokemon. chaining does let them have higher ivs/egg moves/ abilities etc

NPCs that move around in the grass can also break your chain, so pick somewhere there are no one else who can break it for you!

Mysderdragoness Not true. I've been chaining for Zorua around the patch with the moving NPC. The level of Zorua did not reset and only increased. Hence, the chain continues.

The level will not reset until you reach 100? I don't remember, but it doesn't reset if you runaway or you scare it, your chain on the other hand, breaks

I heard in another video that if you wait until you're in the battle with a chained Pokemon, you can go ahead and put your DS in standby and it won't break your chain. If that's not true then that would explain a lot... lol.

I have Omega Ruby, and I really want to get all of the new Megas shiny. I already caught a Carvahna a few days ago on a chain of four, and evolved him, won a Camerupt in a giveaway, but still need the rest, and finding someone with a shiny Sableye I can trade for will be annoying. Thank you so much. Thanks to you I got a shiny ralts (male) after about the 80th ralts (chain 25). XD and to everyone else trying to get a shiny here's 3 tips 1: have pokemon with taunt and a status move e.g hypnosis/thunder wave, so they can't use moves like roar or teleport so you can catch it easer. 2: find out what nature is the best for its stats than get a pokemon with synchronize with that nature. 3: have a badass name for it. ;D

I heard that the actual chain doesn't matter. just the dexnav encounters matter when looking for a shiny so you don't have to catch or faint the pokemon you can just run and search again with the dexnav

So, to clarify, the increasing levels resetting does NOT mean your chain has been broken? I had heard rumors that in ORAS the chain would automatically reset after 100 or so encounters, but it's just the levels?

Get the shiny charm, find ur desired Pokemon, tap on it and press search, sneak up by gently holding down the circle pad, but you have 60 seconds before it runs away, then just kill it if it's not shiny and continue this. Don't scare it away, battle trainer, get out of the route and anything you can possibly think of to ruin ur chain, skip to

I was at a 130 chain for Ralts and its level didn't reset. I caught my shiny at level 31. Though I will note I didn't find anything other than ralts the entire chain and didn't get the "can't find pokemon" on the search.

i have a question and hopefully somebody has an answer cause i cant find one. So when you are dexnav hunting is there a chance that scaring away that pokemon could actually mean you just scared away a shiny? Say you just started your dexnav search and the pokemon pops up. Is wether or not it being shiny already determined the moment it pops up or when you encounter it? because if it is determined the moment it pops up then theres a slight chance we could be scaring away shinies without knowing it Dx

If you don't catch the Pokemon first try (if it escapes from the Pokeball.. A bunch of Level 8 Eevees I've encountered tend to break out of Ultra Balls very easily -_-), does this break the chain?

Chains don't matter with the DexNav because the only thing chains do with the DexNav is the Pokemon having better potential, egg moves, abilities, and what item the Pokemon is holding

I need help. Right now i'm chaining for a shiny Ralts and sometimes when I use the radar it doesn't appear and breaks my chain. Am I doing something wrong? All I do is use the radar and then sneak after the pokemon and kill it.

Your chain isn't broken. You just need to walk around for about 50 steps, then use the Dex nav again. Also, If another Pokemon other than the one you are chaining rustles in the grass, don't chase it away because that breaks the chain, just battle and defeat it, and use the Dex nav to search for the one you want again.
