honestly I think most people would be fine with them holding off on a main series game for a few years and just doing spinoffs. also they need time to work on other things such as accessibility, which I know most people don't care about, but there are a lot of people that do.

Pokemon Fans might hate me 4 this but GameFreak needs to develop it for 5 to 6 years! We Pokemon Fans can get a break heck what we need is spinoff games and not the crap mobile ones more along the lines of DS era like Ranger and N64 era with Pokemon Stadium. Plus I do play other games to and some Monster Taming games as well.

Thoses games looked really fun with nice music, cute sprites for the pokemons, funny villains (Team Dimsun in Jaiden animation's video was hilarious with their reactions; the snow cone distraction was nice 😂) I want spin-offs like that! For gen 10, if it takes 3-4 years to make the game will be good. Who said '' A rushed game will always be bad and a game who took more than 3 years will always be good? '' ? i personally love were pokemon is right now and think that the modern games have been amazing but i can see why some are unhappy, i think that game freak do care a lot but since they put themselves on such a tight schedule it makes it a bit hard, but since their slowing down for ZA i think they're definitely going in the right direction and we will probably be seeing some improvement form here on

Because Pokemon has gone 3D? Dudes, you know when the N64 came out? We wanted Pokemon 64 like Mario/ Donkey 64 or one of the Zelda games and what did we got? Crapy Pokemon Sh*tium which was even way more limited than the freaking OG GameBoy Red/ Blue versions! They had the Gamecube after that, where was our f*g openworld Pokemon game than? Nintendo just don´t give a sh*t and that´s why Palworld won our hearts. It´s the Pokemon 64 or Gamecube version we never got just so much more than we ever asked for. And PocketPair concentrating on "it´s suppose to be fun" really hits the sweetspot since they´re living up to it, it´s just fun. You can adjust the world option so it feels more like a Pokemon game or keep it as it is and have a better ARK Survival; play single player, on a private server with friends or online: they just covered everything.

I don't know anything about One Piece Odyssey (so not that this applies to it), but I will say that there is a difference between a game _selling well_ and being a _well-made game._ Scarlet and Violet is proof of that.

Pokemon definitely needs help. And more time to make their games the right way. Scarlet & Violet are a glitchy mess. Just one reason why I never bought them at all. The developers need to slow down. Pok'emon has taught me how to put patients and effort into getting where I need to go, and what I need to do. If the games have helped me find that. The company can find it too. I still hope the next games have the game play features I wish for.

I feel like I'm the only person or one of few people who hasn't had a performance issue with the new games since Gen 5. Also besides small issues I haven't had a problem with any of the newer games. Yes I would have love a Pokemon Z game but X and Y were amazing I just wish we would have done more with mega evolutions rather than jump from a new gimmick every other game, also the gen 3 remakes were great in my opinion but that may have been nostalgia base for me. Sun and Moon and US and UM were Aldo great and loved the way they did there island challenges felt new and fresh. The Z moves were okay but I preferred Mega evolutions anyway, Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee I thought were great ways to bring younger kids into the franchise while also giving us some what of a sequel to the OG Red and Blue. Sword and Shield's biggest problem for me was the fact that it felt a bit short but I did really enjoy the DLC and enjoyed not having to spend another $60 for extra content, plus I give them the benefit of the doubt that besides Let's Go it was the first mainline game on the switch so they were already trying to adapt to that. And before anyone says but Stadium 1 and 2 and Coliseum were on consoles and they were great. Yes buuuut they weren't mainline games nor did they have the content that a mainline game of today would have. Now for the Gen 4 remakes before I get to Scarlett and Violet, I've had my Gen 4 remakes since day 1 and I have never experienced any of the bugs that I'm guessing alot of players did and I've have put in hours and hours of game time into them. I even looked up some of the bugs and glitches mainly cause I wanted darkai early and was never able to get it to work. I really enjoyed the Gen 4 remakes and my only complaint with them was that they didn't in anyway connect it with Legends Arceus. Legends Arceus is a perfect spin off game, I never experience any bugs or glitches from that game either and my only gripe is it never connected to the Gen 4 remakes and there were all these rumors of extra content coming to Legends Arceus. That never happen and to this day I blame poketubers for leaking info. Pokemon Violet and Scarlet, I'm currently playing now and I will say I absolutely love it. Yes like all the other new games I wish they would've brought back mega evolutions instead of giving us another new gimmick or at least like the anime allowed us to use all the gimmicks. But the gym challenges were great and fresh (reminded me of the island challenges) having 3 separate parts to the main story was fun and interesting even if most people went online to follow the simplest route. And once again we get DLC's that I don't have to spend and extra $60 for pretty much the same game with some extra content, cause growing up I either got gold/silver or crystal not both same with Gen 3 and 4. And before anyone asks yes I do play Palworld, and no I'm not easily amused because for years I've been wanting a 3d pokemon MMO that is alot like Palworld but with a bit more like jobs and multiple regions. But that's a comment for another time. I didn't write all of this to argue or say that this poketuber is wrong but I do believe alot of his complaints are based on his own opinion. Like I said I've played all the same games and never had a performance problem, but maybe I'm the only one. I hope maybe we can communicate with Gamefreak and have them make better games and I'm hoping now that they have a true competition on the market that maybe they will realize what they have been giving us isn't enough. And maybe one day we can get Mega evolutions back lol.

I agree with your take on the video, but another thing to consider is that the people who started out with Pokemon are no longer kids, and a lot of us are just uninterested in the games anymore, mostly because we no longer like the things that we used to, and this is because as adults we have more responsibilities and less free time to do stuff, so things that waste lots of time, such as what the majority of activities that Pokemon games have, it just makes us want to play other games, and the current state of the Pokemon games and such is more tailored to people that have not grown up, and my generation is not like Ash Ketchum who has been 10 for like 30 years, because each new season of his journey was made for the newer generations of younglings, which is why I can relate more to other monster taming series such as Digimon, as in those series you actually see the characters age up, since even the cast from my youth which was Tai and his group from Digimon Adventure, they had become college students and were doing their own things, and then we also got games like Digimon World Next Order, that basically had the vibes of the first PS1 Digimon World game, but it made it so much easier for newcomers and way more enjoyable for all sorts of audiences, and it even brought new spins to the formula that I had actually enjoyed, and honestly the only thing missing in it was some form of multiplayer, because even the PS1 game had a battle mode that was fun, because you could bring your memorycard to your friends place, and have your Digimon battle the ones your friend raised. The only Pokemon game that got my attention in recent years had been Legends Arceus, but after trying it at a friends place even though I liked the idea, I just didn't like the overall execution, and there were lots of bugs in that game too, and they weren't the fun kind of bugs, because I understand all modern games nowadays have tons of bugs, since lots of games basically release as early access now, but for example I had a blast playing Pal World and that game had lots of bugs too, there were many that were frustrating as hell, but the overall experience was hella fun, because some bugs were funny or they let you do a bunch of stuff you couldn't normally do, and even though the Multiplayer was messy and the private servers were not very stable, when I successfully setup a dedicated private server with a group of buddies, we had a blast playing together and our only major annoyance was that unlike Craftopia, which is the other game from the same company that made Pal World, in Craftopia any characters you make can go to any of your friend's worlds or your own private worlds, and the save data for that character gets carried everywhere you go, but with Pal World every single world has its own character data which is the thing I hate the most about it, but most of the positive things from that game make me forgive even that, which is why I do hope that Pal World keeps getting better, and who knows maybe Pokemon will finally get motivated and they make a game way better than what Pal World is, because they do say that rivalries are what make things strong, and I can remember that with the way SEGA and Nintendo tried topping each other in the 90s, we got a lot of awesome stuff due to that rivalry back then.

i feel like everything went downhill after gen 6. gen 7 was fine for me personally but the nintendo switch era is horrible (aside from let's go eevee, which has better graphics than like...all of the pokemon switch games combined. plus it's actually kind of a good remake. yeah i said it. sue me.) i wish gamefreak would stop worrying about money so much. maybe they could make another 2d pokemon game for switch, that would be cool

Yep, basically summed it up perfectly. Gen 6 was like the beginning of the end but was still fun and had a great competitive scene, same as gen 7. While I much prefer the first five gens, it's not like 3D on its own is the problem either, because colloseum exists and it's awesome. They just no longer care anymore.

Scarlet and Violet is what led me to finally disliking Pokémon after over a decade. I initially hated Pokémon due to self-r*cism; I hated it back in 2009-2010 all because it was Japanese while hypocritically being a huge fan of Mario (Also Japanese via being made by Nintendo) and Transformers (While half-American via Hasbro, it is also half-Japanese via Takara, as well as its origins via Diaclone). Pokémon, along those two (especially Transformers), and also Bionicle, and especially SpongeBob SquarePants were the five original interests of mine. Today, only Mario, and especially Transformers remain. I am now neutral towards Bionicle, and I nowadays don’t care for SpongeBob SquarePants. Pokémon on the other hand, I nowadays dislike, and Scarlet and Violet motivated me to ditch Pokémon. I moved onto many, MANY other things as I became an adult; South Park, Helluva Boss, proper anime (such as Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, and Love Live), Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (Out of every underwater-related media to replace SpongeBob SquarePants, and this what I picked?? Of course!), Murder Drones, Amphibia (yes, THAT frog show), and many others. Additionally, I expanded my interest in Transformers EVEN FURTHER (as I watched Prime (You know? Probably the darkest show on the former Hub Network?), as well as start Cybertron for real). Now, I liked Pokémon mainly for the games, and Scarlet and Violet was so problematic that I left the entire franchise. Even if not making all the Pokémon usable again wasn’t an issue, there’s still FPS issues, glitches, unoriginality (unlike the Ultra Beasts (which I thought were awesome), the Paradox Pokémon are very unoriginal and uncreative, as many of their designs are way too similar to their relatives, and their names are just two words put together), a disappointing and underwhelming 1,000th Pokémon (It could have been a legendary or mythical, but it wasn’t), no level-scaling with the Gym Leaders, unable to fight the Elite Four repeatedly post-victory (at least in the main game), and so much more. I usually got super excited when a new Pokémon generation dawns, but this 9th one disappoints me, and why I think Generation 10 should happen in 2026 at the EARLIEST. Later would be better. I blame myself for getting Generation 9’s Violet, and to a lesser extent, Generation 8’s Shield. I wonder if it was a bad idea to get Generation 7’s Moon as well… With all my disappointments with Scarlet and Violet, my status as a Pokémon fan came to a head, and ever since I left the franchise, I have even been looking for issues with the ENTIRE franchise even before Gen 9. No, before Gen 7 and 8 even (one issue I can mention is that the type roster is ridiculous, such as naming the new type Fairy instead of Light, even though the Fairy type is supposed to be the antithesis of the Dark type, or how Rock and Ground are separate types), but yeah, I now dislike Pokémon.

I understand every company needs to make money, it’s a business obviously. But Game Freak and pokemon as a whole need to find a way to balance the work load. I agree that more time isn’t the way, and I agree with giving the games to another company to make them. Let group A put all their effort into the new game, group B handles DLC & maybe remakes. But you’re right that something needs to change.

I think Pokémon is and has been done for a while. We're approaching a decade since a decent game came out. Hopefully they do us all a favour and don't ruin gen 5, just make switch ports of BW/BW2 and leave it at that. People defending the unfinished and lackluster garbage they've been putting out lately is also contributing to the downfall of Pokémon.

My opinion is that pokemon never fell off. Yes, the new games aren´t objectivley as good as the old games but it didn´t ¨fall of¨ the thing is that all these ¨glitchy clips¨ are cherry picked and you dont usually see them. If youve actually played the game your not experiencing these things. But yes, the frame rate issues are quite apparent. but they are not a glitchy mess. well this is just my opinion after all though.

I just think they to restructure their release schedule. I know the TCG and other media is connected to it but the games are the heart of the franchise for those different media to exist so it should be in the forefront. There's no excuse for one of the top selling franchises ever. Sakurai would tweak Smash to the best of his abilities just like Miyamoto and Aonuma with Mario and Zelda. Pokémon seems to disregard quality for quantity and its showing. Outsource 2 HOME compatible games like Remakes and Legends and GF solely focus on the mainline games.

Just pocketing it apparently, because they don't even need to try. Scarlet and Violet was a buggy mess but it still broke sales records. Game Freak has a relatively small dev team (because supposedly they like to feel like a close-knit indie dev team, so they refuse to hire more people unless absolutely necessary) and on top of that, they insist on yearly releases. Its rushed as heck, no wonder they're as unfinished as they are.

Yup, blinded by greed they have lost sight* of what is truly important which is what made them rich in the first place. Gen 5 was peak poke'mon in terms of aesthetic because it had animated sprites that somewhat reacted to the* environment (think sleep would make them close their eyes) . The natural progression of gen 5 spritework would have seen us having custom animations for things like Mewtwo throwing an Aura Sphere or raising it's hand to force choke an enemy poke'mon into the air with Psychic etc. Even I could tell at the time that 3d was a horrible idea because 2-dimensional things OBVIOUSLY don't translate well into a 3 dimensional world because 2 dimensional things where made without a 3rd dimension(!) so you have to add a 3rd dimension to a 2 dimensional thing and in doing so the 2 dimensional thing loses its identity and becomes something totally different! Think ugly 3d Zauroarks hair or 3d sonic the hedgehog. I truly hate 3d poke'mon. It's all downhill from here as the rot has thoroughly set in. I just check in now to see something important to me debased and feel part of my soul ripped away.

i stopped buying pokemon games after ultra sun/moon. and as the newer pokemon got released, i felt they didn't "look" like pokemon. like the soul was gone somehow. the designs looked ugly and lazy. gens 1, 2, 3 were prob the peak for me and then it started falling off. i have no intention to buy any other games in the future and it just feels like a sad death to games i loved. i hope they release the digital versions for the switch. most of my actual physical games don't even work anymore and i'd love to have a place to actually keep files alive.
