Hey chris, do you reckon you would ever film one of your poker tournaments and give us a bit of a look into one of your game nights? i'm quite interested to see how smoothly they run.

Have considered this for a LONG time - The problem is that I have more than a few players who really don't want to be on youtube in any way shape or form - if I ever have a night where none of them are present, I may be able to give this idea a try.

I run an online (lockdown) poker game between about 30/40 friends and family . The app of course does all this for me , I'd no idea how complicated a live game would be . I'll probably never run one but find your content so informative and entertaining none the less. Thank you .

You give us a little taste of mixed games and then you are gone for 5 months... :) Glad you are back and your home game still going. Nice video, nice bounty chips. Thank you for your tutorials. I think in a home tournament bounty is a must. As you have said before, most of the people go home empty handed so at least they can take some money back. Good luck :)

It seems like bounty tournaments make more sense the bigger the tournament. You mentioned the most someone ever got was 10, assuming for ~30 people. But a lot of STTs it seems like 1 player will bust 7 of the 9 in it! So it turns into a way to just pay the winner more, where as I'm more interested in spreading more money around so people are more incentivized to come back. Thoughts?

I know this video is from last year and you’ve probably had them forever but where did you get your octagon tables? Cool ! I play bounties as well but I don’t have those cool bounty chips! Where you get those or did you buy those? I usually tell players that the 5 or 10 or 20 bounty is actual cash and when a player goes all in; he puts the actual cash in play ! It helps intensify the action of eliminating a player ! Seeing actual cash ! But I would like to get those bounty all in buttons

I'm working a bounty chip into low stakes home games as a way to make sure that all players have something to play for, even inexperienced ones. The way I decided to do it was everyone brings something with 5 dollars cash value on top of their chip buy in. That could include a bomber of beer, pound of bacon, a batch of homemade cookies, etc. Those go into a white elephant pot and each player gets to pick an item when they eliminate a player. We decided to make the bounty chips non transferable so that one person is less likely to end up with them all as the game progresses. These bounties are only for the first buy in so there's no need for players to bring multiple items.

Using a 5 denomination for tournaments is a bit of a challenge but I know it can be done. Never tried it myself. I would also strive to keep a cash and tournament set separate. Your breakdown seems like a good one for a single table tournament with either 5K or 10K starting stacks.

i have never hosted a tournament,but i want to and i think i have enough chips to, but there is one thing i dont quite get. how do the players have enough of the small denominations to keep playing? do they just exchange between themselves continously? im sorry if this is a really basic question i just havent seen the procedure mentioned
@chrismanzoni3586
@chrismanzoni3586 3 жыл бұрын
Good question if you don’t know! Players typically make change among themselves using the bigger chips. I have mentioned in other videos, my breakdown uses less small denominations, but a lot of people advocate for more chips on the table such as x12 T25s and T100s as opposed to x8

Question??? How do you determine the person that gets the bounty chip when 3 people go all in and the pot is chopped between 2? I seen where some places split ( that's what we do) and some places give it to the highest stack at the beginning of the hand. Just curious. Thanks for the videos
@chrismanzoni3586

We don’t split bounties, the bigger stack takes it in the event of a chop.

It’s called “total bounty” or “full bounty”. I took 2nd one time in a total bounty mtt and had no knockouts so $0 payout for 2nd place. Not good!

Is it possible to use bounty in cash game ?
@chrismanzoni3586

Not sure how that would work - I suppose you could set aside a certain amount from your stack as a "bounty" that someone collects if they take all of your other chips.

Are bounty buy ins optional? If a player doesn’t want to pony up the extra cash they just don’t get to participate?
@chrismanzoni3586

A bounty tournament includes the bounty in the entry fee. It’s a tournament type in and of itself, and yes there are people who don’t care for bounty tournaments. In this case they often look elsewhere for regular tournaments. In the example of my $45 home game, the bounty is a very small percentage of the entry so people don’t mind so much. It’s seen as more of a mini side game rather than a full blown bounty tournament.

First and foremost it’s illegal in the state of California, and illegal in most of the United States. Second, I have an actual job where I make a good living, I don’t need to take money from my friends who are guests in my home. I don’t mind winning money from them on occasion, that’s part of the game, but just flat out taking it is not my style.
