For those kinda confused by that last video, collegehumor, and by extention dorkly lost their parent company after years of loss. Because of this, they were running out of money and forced to lay off almost all their employees. They are still cooperating with lowbrow to continue making animation videos

They are still running, but they had to cut a lot of secondary content(I can't really figure out what to call them, I guess subsidiaries might be the correct term) such as drawfee for example, they used to be part of dorkly but got cut, they struggled a bit initially but they seem to be back on their feet

5:00 Patterrz actually revived Pokemon actually do retain their memory. In one of the Unova anime arcs with Ferris the archieologist, the Tirtouga that he saved when he went back in time remembered him after being revived. Just saying :)

Shivermist Still, it’s likely degraded. As in the very, very minuscule memory links and whatever could be broken down already. It’s like a cluster of wires with one chunk missing being repaired - Chances are, unless the machine is specifically designed for it (in modern technology at least we can’t quite reconstruct a brain :p), that chunk will just become a lump of copper or whatever attached to the non-degenerated wires.

11:04 yes that is ditto shuckle. In some of there other Pokémon videos we get to see his story from a normal shuckle, to a dead shuckle, to the mighty ditto shuckle. I remember most of the story being in the “Pokémon disappointed in their evolutions” series.

"its technically a legendary" "thats not how that works" explain how evolving legendaries are a thing and there's only one per region with no way to find more in addition legendaries have widely varying stats so thats not a reason plus starters even have signiture moves like *most* legendaries they are obtained from a special unique way there is no reason they wouldnt be considered legendary

Fun fact, when he tore open the dimensional rift to hop from the red version to the blue version, this is actually something you can do with the games. Red and Blue have compatible save files, and there were devices you could use to back up and restore game saves. So you absolutely could play red, back up your save, restore it to a blue cartridge, and then play the same save on blue.

Memories aren't physical though. Memories are basically just little blips of energy and sequences of patterns that go from neuron to neuron. Maybe in Pokemon, fossils retain their memories but scientifically they would not.

Patterz points out many valid points. However, I can argue against a couple of them. 1. The definition of legendary pokemon is quite vague. The only thing that really decides what's a legendary is the statement from an official medium such as game or anime. However, legendary pokemon are generally considered to be incredibly rare and powerful. However, some can be incredibly weak and evolve, such as Cosmog. In the game-world, there's no official statement from a medium, so you can only go by rarity. In the game-world, there's no way to get the pokemon other than at that spot, so by that game-world standard, they should be considered legendary. This was before they discovered bulbapedia and other world stuff and the show became totally meta, so it's understandable. Smart doesn't necessarily mean they know everything, it means they act smartly. 2. Revived fossil pokemon are somehow able to follow orders, so they retain their linguistic abilities. This means their memory is preserved at least partially somehow.

The idea of resurrecting the corpse I think comes from the idea of the anime or some games, more so in the anime, is that if Pokemon could potentially remember their past even though they are more fossilized than the same would apply here with the father. Also we don't know when the father "died" it's possible they restored enough. Or its just a plot hole.
