I got it to start by kick start but as so as I push on the accelerator it shit off.

That's frustrating , I know but,.. it's also great ! You may need to clean the carb, and check for air leaks into the engine.

This bike belonged to friend of mine. I haven't seen it for a long while now. Without being able to see your bike, I don't know where to begin. You could search for a service manual on line, and download a pdf file of one for about 10 bucks. Hope that helps, Good luck

Thanks for the info on bleeding the oil pump. The exact thing I was looking for. My son was riding this afternoon and the engine seized up on him. We let it completely cool down and fortunately it fired right back up. Hopefully no serious damage was done. Just to be safe I’ll be pre-mixing a few tanks of fuel until I can verify the pump is working. Can you tell me what the fuel/oil mix ratio is for these engines?

I really don't know the proper mix ratios. I would mix it like I would for a chainsaw, & when running if you don't see a lil white smoke, add some more oil. Best luck to you...

Is the scrambler str8 gas or two cycle mixed

This is a 2 stroke. It has a second tank for the oil and a mixing pump to deliver it to the carb. You can also just premix and add to the gas tank.

I just picked up a scrambler 90 but it ain't running. Looks like everything is there other than the battery. Can you point me on where I can start working on it. It's new to me I don't know anything about it

Your best bet is to get a service manual. Google it , and it will cost about 10 bucks. Then you can download it it as a PDF. It will tell you every thing you'll ever need to know about your machine.

@@t.j.1234 These are 2 stroke, so you won't find a drain plug for any oil. They get the engine lubrication from the oil in the fuel...

My step dad just bought a scambler and we can’t get fuel into the fuel pump any idea why it won’t get fuel in there

if the fuel is flowing out of the tank, it should be going into the carb. If it's not getting into the carb, the float and needle valve may be clogged. Fuel doesn't go into any pump on these. The oil for the fuel mix uses a pump, i recommend premixing in the fuel tank til you know the oil pump is working. Hope this helps....Best luck to you

yes it is a 2 stroke. the petcock (Valve) on the gas tank may need cleaned out,.
