Been looking all over for the 3.3 closed throttle setting, thank you very much.

Update, I set the tps at .465 volts at closed throttle and using the ecm's 3.3 volt feed. It ran but rich, it kept trying to idle down to 1200 rpm's but idle back up to 1800 cause it tries to die obviously iac opening to prevent it from dying. I brought the setting down to .35 volt and runs great. Am I missing something, or another issue I'm overlooking?

@@maxgforce75I just saw your message now. I believe the spec would be 0.46 at idle, not with the plate fully closed (i.e. do not back out the throttle stop screw). If you fully backed out the idle stop screw before setting it to 0.46, then that's why you're rich. Or if the 3.3V supply isn't accurate, that could throw things off too, so maybe double check the 3.3V line from the ECU. But long story short, the goal is a good running engine, so if you found a good setting then you should be set.

Thank you for your business and your question. First double check that you have the TPS Tool wired correctly (wire colors in the right spot). If you open the throttle, does the reading go above 3.5V? If no, then the wires are likely in the wrong places on the TPS Tool. Send me an email and I can help get you going, my email is at the very top of the instructions that came with the tool. :)

so the .46 and .70 values at millivolt or milliamp reading if using multimeter correct

0.46V would be 460mV, and 0.70V would be 700mV. If your meter has a manual selector, try the 2V DC setting if it has one.

Thank you very much for your business and your question. The service manual says a base value of 0.528V and an idle value of 0.710V. If you set the base, be sure the throttle body is clean of any carbon build up so the throttle plate fully closes. See page 4.16 in the service manual. I hope this helps!

I really like your videos. I know it’s long shot. But I have some issues setting my throttle body as someone was playing with it. Would you happen to know voltage vale at the stop screw all the way out for Suzuki outboard 2018 model 70hp. Appreciate your help.

Thank you for your comment! I'm not familiar with that particular motor, but the first place to look is the service manual if you can get your hands on it. If that's a no go, then I would take a guess at perhaps 0.40V and see if it will start. If not, try 0.45V. Keep going up about 0.05V at a time until you can get it to start and run. From there you can fine tune it by adjusting about 0.02V up or down until you find the best position. Treat it like the fuel screw on a carburetor, up and down a little until you find the best spot. If that motor has a TPS auto learn feature or similar then this might not work, but if you don't have access to the service manual then this is what I would try first. I hope this helps, please post back and let us know how it goes!

@@TPSTool I really appreciate your input. That is what I was trying to do. The only problem is that the stop screw was messed up too. So I have 2 problems to solve :(. The manual is saying that itps needs to be between 0.7-3.8v. I guess the only way now to work out is to know the voltage when the screw is all the way out. I got ithe motor running just fine but I’m just bit scared if it runs lean or rich not to burn the engine. Unfortunately Suzuki is not giving those values as they are factory set. New trottle Body costs $1000 rip off. If you got any ideas let me know. Otherwise keep the videos coming. Cheers

@@vedranmujcinovic4000 If it's running fine then that's 9/10 the battle. Give it a good hard run then check the spark plugs to see if it looks too lean. Too rich shouldn't cause any immediate problems, some extra soot but I would not expect a hard failure. Too lean could cause more immediate problems, but if the TPS is the only thing that has been fiddled with, and it's idling good and otherwise running well then you've probably OK. If the manual says 0.7-3.8, then that would imply that 0.7V at idle should be in spec. If it were my personal motor, and if it's running great, I would check the spark plugs and if they look OK then run with it. :)

I have a 2012 Polaris ranger 500 EFI. The TPS is reading 3.86. What should it be set at?

It sounds like you have the tool connected incorrectly. Try swapping the GND and 5V wires. Send me an email if that doesn't solve it. The setting for that motor is listed on our common settings page: tpstool.com/help/common-tps-settings/

Hello ! I need some help !? I’ve got a 2015 Polaris 570 sportsman touring atv of course. I’ve messaged you before and stated I had got your TPS tool to help in getting or knowing what my sensor was giving me for a voltage reading because my atv would not start and then idle. Then maybe on the 3rd 4th or 5th time it would start and stay idling. Know I’ve been following your lead on setting the TPS at .685 and .691 and yes I finally getting frustrated and loosened the idle screw and then turned the idle screw till it read .7027 and other .70?? Settings. I’ve tried many different settings. It will start and idle then when I turn it off and try to start it won’t start and idle. The TPS sensor is a new one and still have the one that was there which I believe is fine as far as working but thought I would try a new one. And there is no problem with the throttle on the contacts coming together and being a problem. The first time I took out the throttle body and plugged in the tps meter it read .6471 . So I’m stumped if something else could be wrong or I just haven’t hit the right voltage setting. Just to mention also in trying to get things right it will start but idle is at 1700 - 1800 rpm I’m able to turn idle down so it’s at 1200-1250 rpm at idle turn off machine and then go to start and then it won’t start and idle. So any thoughts ? Signed a work in progress… Duane

Thanks for your message. I'm not entirely clear on where you're at right now, but hopefully this will help. If you adjusted the screw that you're not supposed to adjust (video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4a7kJmhgNOEbrM) then fix that first. Basically you want to turn that screw until just BEFORE the throttle plate opens, stop just before it opens and tighten the lock nut. It's job is to take up any play in the system. I don't have the manual for the 2015 model year, but the 2014 model year manual says 0.70v at idle, there's reasonable odds the 2015 is the same but if you can find the 2015 service manual and double check then that would be ideal. Once the TPS is set, your TPS should be good and if it's still having a problem then the problem is not the TPS. That motor uses an IAC valve that allows the ECU to control the idle speed, I would check that next. Maybe it's sticking or just not working. I would also check the fuel pressure and clean the injector. Here's a link to the 2014 manual explaining how to check the IAC: www.manualslib.com/manual/1535063/Polaris-2014-Sportsman-570-Ef.html?page=174&term=IAC&selected=1#manual I hope this helps, please let us know how it goes!

I’m back at working on this situation so I’ll get back to you I believe I’m close cause when my girlfriend holds the handle brake and turns the key to start I give it just a ever so little bit of throttle gas and it stays running and idling. Anyway I’ll watch that video again I’ve taken it for a ride and it snorts right along. So I’ll get working on it here again after I eat and gather my thoughts lol. Thank you
