I had a Mach E on order for a year and while waiting I test drove a Polestar 2. When my Mach E arrived I went to drive it and chose the Polestar 2. The design intent for each of these cars is quite different. The Mach E is a Ford, with a decent interior and SUV style exterior. But was designed for family driving, thinner tires for more range, bouncy softer suspension (the GT, at a higher price point, will probablly improve on this). The Polestar 2 would probably appeal more to a sports car driver. Tight suspension, faster, sedan cockpit feel. The interior is upscale, and definitely a step above. The ground clearance is actually higher in the Polestar 2 non PP than in the Mustang Mach E, so a good car for snow also. Choices are good to have.

Great summary Justin. I'm likely going to be in the market soon and while I was kind of leaning towards a fun sport sedan like a IS 350 or G70 3.3T, I'm debating now on taking a look at a full EV offering since the fuel savings likely offset the higher purchase price in a few years given Canada's government push towards them in the near future.

I'm in the g70 3.3 this week, it's a lot of fun. Not sure if I prefer it to the Polestar 2. Funny you mentioned the Lexus is. Another favorite of mine. To me, the Lexus is the best Highway cruiser, the g70 is I highly compelling overall package with a great interior, and the Polestar, I'd say, is the most fun to drive of the 3...good luck!

If you want a more allround driwe, skip the performance pack on Polstar 2

Thank you for this. I was ultimately choosing between these two for my (planned) next car, and for my needs/preferences, the Mustang Mach-E edged out the Polestar 2, especially given the more challenging issues of service from the limited number of "Polestar Spaces" (I live near enough to New York City that I could use that one, but even so, I'd much rather drive a few miles to my local Ford dealer than deal with scheduling pickups and deliveries); had Polestar decided to do in North America what it did in Europe (namely contract with actual Volvo dealers for service and support for Polestar 2), this might have been a harder choice.

Great insight, I'm still not sure which one I would pick to be honest!

Polestar can be serviced by Volvo as they own them. Source, I own a polestar2.

too bad you did not compare the standard Polestar 2 AWD rather than the stiffer and lower profile tires of the Performance edition

Not a fan of chinese cars, i'd take the mustang
@benjaminsmith22873 жыл бұрын
@@romteb The Polestar is not really Chinese. I've heard its German and Austrian designers and saw footage enough from its engineers to know that owned and manufactured in China is not the same as engineered and executed in Europe.

Should've gotten the standard vegan leather version and not killed innocent cows. You would've saved some money too.

@@artemzhdanov7119 Because it isn't good to help an unethical industry that hurts animals profit. Polestar should've never made leather an option, it doesn't fit with their company's image.
