In this video I discuss a number of reasons why I think the police are now starting to use surron ultra bee's in some of the big UK cities.
After seeing videos of Police forces now using these E-Bikes it left me with a number of questions and in this video I talk about the answers that I could think of.

As for gangs pinching bikes when you are out and about, I think the canal path is one of the worst places to ride for that, A few kids had their bikes stolen and got a beating on the canal path around here, the other week I was riding my ebike on it and a bunch of teen lads stood in my way asking for the time, I shook my head and went full speed at them and they got out of the way but I know what would have happened if Id stopped, If they had stood their ground it would have been messy though but I figured Id get hurt either way so just went for it.

I've had my road legal for 2 years. I ride around London and in that time I've only been stopped once (about a month ago) and that was because they thought I had fake plates and assumed I would have just run. They only wanted to check out the bike and check I was legit. They told me they were getting them to target the gangs that are using them to rob people in the city (people nicking watches etc). My insurance ran out last week and not planning to renue it, I'll probably sell the Sur-Ron soon or keep it just to do some off-roading on my days off. I just got a GSX R125 coz I'll get more use out of it then I would the Sur-Ron coz of the range and the fact that I can't really use it in the rain. Also I can't leave it anywhere!!! Ever! It'll just get stolen.

I think what we need to start seeing is far more content where we can legitimately take our Surron/eBike (perhaps intially in the back of our cars), get it out and have a blast around (private land/permission given/welcoming/places that authorise/allow it). There has to be loads of places in the UK that enable this. Lets start seeing some 'allowed eRide locations'.. Image if there was a UK wide map of areas. I would happily even pay a couple of quid each time for parking If had a blast. Much like the popularity of pedal power MTB locations.

As a motorcycle biker for nearly fifty years I would suggest that if you get your bikes road legal, you're less likely to get stopped by the PIGGS. I owned my last bike for just short of 20 years, till it got stolen last year. I only got stopped once during that time for speeding (36 in a 30). And once more because the PIGG was lost. The question is why they are allowed to be sold? It’s not like those who buy them are only going to ride them on private land only with the permission of the landowner. The other question is what do you do when you crash and injure/kill someone else on one those things? Just ride off? No responsibility for the consequences of your actions. There’s a reason why riders should have CBT and number plates on them. I had a run in with one last year who decided to ride his in a pedestrian only zone (pedestrians and cyclists only ) of my local town centre. Was riding it at more than 30mph and terrified shoppers going about in their Sunday morning. I Managed to dodge him whilst cycling and he smashed right into a tree breaking his arm and leg. No helmet, just a balaclava, no number plate or insurance. Said he was 19. Whilst he was being attended to his mate comes along and rides off with the Surron, no doubt so when the rider does recover he can ride it again another day.
@mattfrancisofficial

Why do they sell cars/motorcycles far more powerful and with higher speeds than the law states? If they were to stop the sale of these bikes then they would have to stop selling any vehicles capable of going over the highest speed limit in the UK which is 70mph! It’s just not reasonable is it. As for hitting/killing someone, that comes down to the rider not the bike. If they decide to run that is on them not the surron! What about if i hit someone on a bicycle and badly injured or killed them (which is still very possible). You cant blame the bike for that can you! Again, like mentioned, that comes down to the rider being a bell end. The bike didn’t make him do that and those are the people that ruin it for the standard users who just want to enjoy their bike and life. Again, same with cars, people speed around above the speed limit and cause chaos on false number plates so no way of actually tracking the driver. Shall we ban all vehicles until this can be solved? Is that what you are saying?? I’ve seen horses throw off riders injuring them to the point they are in critical condition in hospital. Shall we also ban horse riding too? A family member of mine broke their leg by simply walking down an icy street and slipped. Are we then going to ban walking to avoid this? In my opinion you sound like a right snowflake and if everyone had to live your way life would be even more miserable and fun deprived than it already is. Everything is based on circumstance, you can’t just ban a product because a small minority can’t behave themselves whilst using it or because other humans dont agree with it. We have to share this earth together which means putting up with things we dont want to. Thats life. Welcome to it.

Was inevitable , police bikes will probably be upgraded too, they wont want slow bikes. What IS on my mind is are they allowed to ride illegally to follow you off road? This would go back to whether or not they should do high speed pursuits for fear of causing accidents that would not have happened if they just did not chase... I'm up in yorkshire and ride ebikes but am aware of the rules etc and stay away from roads anyway because cars are dangerous around 15mph bikes, a sur ron would be safer on the road keeping up with traffic but then is illegal off road, its a problem, I like to do days out on the bike and that requires both on and off road, A bike that is legal on the road and can keep up with traffic and be allowed off road in 15mph mode with pedal assist would be infinitely more useful to me, it would literally replace all other transport for my need ( IF security wasnt and issue of course.)

And I ain't talking about a R1 as well just a measly derby 125 will easily outpace these and give the police 0 chance of catching anyone who is faster than a ebike user. The Surron isn't' really an e-bike but rather an motorcycle. The UK has pretty much the same restrictions as the rest of Europe and in reality it doesn't suck at all. It keeps actual e-bikes legal to ride in all the same areas and paths as conventional bikes and anything beyond that (like the Surron) as a motorcycle to be used where motorcycles are legal. It's a win win for everyone.

So from what i know, Surrons have more options for making the bike taller such as the seat riser kit, frame extender kit and peg drop brackets. However i do think standard Talaria’s are slightly taller than the surrons but don’t quote me on it. I’m 6ft as well and feel like the standard surron size is still absolutely fine for people our height. It comes down to which bike you prefer over all and then adjustments can be made further down the line if needed🔋⚡️

Utility cartels all got new super SUPERMEGAYachts on order when everything goes E' - What power and control they will have, the world is rapidly heading in a direction that is truly FK'd up. Cashless means every purchase such as these bikes could be very easily traced, same with E-Cars, be no need for speed cameras as the car itself will report the driver automatically AND what with cashless ''in the future'' possibly even just deduct the fine fee automatically. But I'm convinced there will be zero need for any speed cameras as the cars software will be enough, and the car will be able to do 40mph in a 30 etc as the fine revenue is always welcome. I doubt I'll be around to see it all but it's clear the way things are heading.
