My friend was the one pronounced dead at the scene. He was a great, GREAT guy. He was always smiling. He had a HUGE, beautiful smile. He was a nice guy. I saw him earlier that day. I woke up the following morning and my mom told me about the shootings. Anytime there were shootings around there, I would message or call him to make sure they were all ok. I called and called and called. No answer. Finally around dinner time his brother answered and told me. I want people to know how nice of a guy he was. Me being a white girl from the suburbs, have no clue what it’s like being a young, black man in the city. I would assume most of them carry some sort of weapon with them. Please don’t think of him as a bad person. I’m really sad he is gone. Imagine being one of his brothers or their mom. Lost 2 sons probably over some stupid argument. Fights aren’t hands on anymore. People use weapons and cause devastation. RIP Akil! You will be missed❤️

I saw the video myself The guy had a gun first the guy who passed tried to wrestle the gun away from him and once they ended up in the street in the ground guns just started going off I honestly think the guy who’s wanted accidentally shot his brother it’s sad man
