We’ve gone over this scenario quite a few times in our Academy class. The instructor will keep it going by saying the sergeant says it’s not a big deal, then you go to the LT and chief and he/she says the same thing. At that point you have to question whether or not that department is a place you want to work for.

Exactly, the further up the chain this travels the more trouble for the entire agency. Not only that, if they are ok with this what else dothey let slip? Once you start down that road it will never end. Thanks for watching, stay safe.

To In Pursuit 360. I love your videos and this is very important the integrity aspect. While we want everyone to have integrity especially officers. Don’t take this out of context even though I’m not a cop I can understand how sometimes it’s extremely difficult for good officers to quote on quote rat on a partner. We’ve seen so many times where a good Officer tries to do the right thing and gets retaliated against. -Two famous examples: -The 1970s Case with Frank Sepico exposing bribery in the New York City Police Dept. -The 2022 Case out of Sunrise, Florida with the female officer who pulled the Supervisor off of the handcuffed suspect then the supervisor tried to choke her. While I’m not justifying covering things up I can see why it’s not as easy as it sounds.

This questions was always an interesting one to me in the Oral Interview. Good job explaining it BTW Greg. You have an excellent take and give a perspective that most similar videos lack. This question will tell the panel a number of key things about the applicant including ethics, necessary confrontation (and doing so to the extent warranted by the situation), and following chain of command. It's a critical question and I appreciate your excellent answer to it Greg! Hoping the best for you and your channel sir!

I agree with you 100% a lack of integrity equals a lack of accountability. Accountability only works if everyone is accountable. If I couldn't count on the badge to be integris, I would have no interest in law enforcement. Thank you very much sir for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.

How would you answer.... Have you ever had a disagreement with a supervisor when asked to do something unethical, or would you ever do something unethical if a supervisor asked you to do something you knew that was unethical?

Fascinating question, My first thought would be to trust my partner had paid for the item and I didn't see it. It would have to be clear theft for me to question their integrity. Perhaps I'm too trusting but if I am to trust my partner with my life, surely I can trust them to have the integrity to pay for their snack. Lot more to think about than meets the eye....

Just remove qualified immunity and let us sue them directly when they violate Citizens Rights. After they lose their house and pension....things in policing will become better!!!
