Күн бұрын

On June 22, 2019 Real World Police brought you exclusive footage of a police lieutenant's DUI arrest that had been kept quiet for over a year.
New Jersey media outlets covered our publication of the footage. “The drunk-driving arrest of a veteran South Jersey police officer whose blood alcohol level tested at over four times the legal limit is coming to light over a year later... Lower Township police Lt. John Chew, 48, was stopped in the Erma section of Lower Township in his Chevrolet pickup truck on April 27, 2018 after several 911 calls were received about an erratic driver operating at a high rate of speed, according to a case file posted online by an individual or group using the names "Real World Police" and "Real World Media."
Chew's arrest was withheld from the police blotter posted on the Department's Facebook page where all other arrests for the time period were posted and it was not disclosed in subsequent weeks. No other media outlet even knew it had happened.
Another news publication wrote: "A summary of the case by Real World Police in its KZbin video description says Chew pleaded guilty on Sept 13, 2018 to driving under the influence and was fined nearly $700, was required to use an ignition interlock for six months following a seven-month license suspension, and was required to spend 12 hours a week in a intoxicated driver resource center." That is accurate, and it was standard for a first-time DUI arrest in New Jersey. Chew retired immediately after his arrest.
Notably, we have since learned that in March 2009, John Chew himself investigated a hit-and-run incident, tracking vehicle debris and tire tracks for hours until he ended up on the doorstep of a different Lower Township police officer. Chew arrested him on a slew of charges.
Some time after publishing the initial footage, we published a portion of the footage seen here. Only it was silent. In fact, we didn't even know that an audio track existed. Audio did not play in any player we used, and ffprobe did not report that audio was present. But it was. And after a lot of cursing, we finally got it to play.

Body-worn camera footage of the arrest: tiny.cc/ltdui And available now on Patreon, another full-length Jeremy Dewitte jail call. Fair warning: it's... humanizing. Note: the video will be available for free at some point later this week. *Many people are asking why the officers care about the arrestee having his hands near his face. The answer is test validity. Having your hands near your face interferes with the officer's ability to clearly observe your face for any sign that you have burped, vomited, etc. - which might later be argued to have influenced the test results. Similarly, if allowed to touch your face you might later claim to have eaten something that interfered with the test, or claim that you had used alcohol-based hand sanitizer which was then transferred to your lips. Or even that you drank alcohol and they didn't catch it. It's to avoid anything like that. *Some viewers are likely wondering why I pointed out that this video has sound. Copying directly from the video description: "Some time after publishing the initial footage, we published a portion of the footage seen here. Only it was silent. In fact, we didn't even know that an audio track existed. Audio did not play in any player we used, and ffprobe did not report that audio was present. But it was. And after a lot of cursing, we finally got it to play."

@@traviseastlick5342 Mind providing evidence in support of your claim to have "personally [been] involved with the removal of at least 5 public officials and 3 police officers and 2 elected officials?" It's certainly plausible, but it's unlikely enough that I want to see evidence before it gets advertised here. (It's nothing personal, obviously. No one here knows who you are.) If you are not comfortable posting it publicly you are welcome to send it directly to me by email - jayatrealworldpolicedotcom. After watching the video of him getting pulled over, it's pretty clear to me the arresting officers knew he had a drinking problem. On a couple different occasions they mentioned "I hope he gets the help he needs". They wouldn't say that if this was a first time fluke encounter. Word gets around a station and it's likely most of the department knew he was an alcoholic, yet nothing was done to confront him, and get him the necessary help. It's their duty to protect the public and they failed by doing nothing. Instead it was ignored until this incident and they were forced to act due to the cameras rolling. I just wonder how many times he got away with it because cameras weren't recording.

They wouldve let him go if the body cams and audio wasnt already rolling. This guy was just a dickhead alcoholic who happened to be a police officer. He almost hit someone head on at the beginning of the video. yet even with cameras, and with a blood alcohol of .38 (4.5 times the limit for DUI and 2.5 times the limit for aggravated DUI , a felony in NJ) he was only charged with a simple misdemeanor DUI , which allowed him to retire with full benefits. Only because of the "enhanced DUI law" in NJ , which doesn't allow prosecutors to accept pleas to lesser charges , was he not able to plead down to a moving violation , or I'm sure he would have been given that opportunity.

Sad how many people went to jail innocently because of lies from the POLICE. Some didn't even make it out alive. Because they were stabbed, beaten to death, raped, suicides, PTSD. THE REASON THE GOVERNMENT IN MANY STATES WILL NOT CHANGE THE LAW IS BECAUSE MORE THAN 30% OF RETIREES would be found guilty and sent to jail. For commiting crimes while in uniform. And many of these grandfather's and grandmother's yeah women cops included were just as abusive as their male counter parts. Lots of people in very high places would be fired, charged or demoted.

@@rekunta I have to agree. The amount of times we hear them apologise and say there's nothing they can do because the camera is on. I also noticed in the last video I watched like this, the sound muted quite a few times, and not when the woman was giving personal details, phone no etc., which seemed a bit strange

For most people .4 can be fatal, and he wasn't far off at .36, so it certainly appears he's got an alcohol problem and has built up quite a tolerance with being able to conduct himself so well at that level.

@Jeffrey Dohnger It all depended on the Cop...I was a heavy partier, and a Bouncer at several Clubs...some if them would fuck you over worse, which is what happened to me. I got pulled over by a Cop that went to school with my older brother...who's Ex- girlfriend my brother started throttling. Surely you can figure out I went to jail for DUI, and blew a .04, and was released after proving BAC...he was an asshole.

I think anyone who has been arrested by this police department should file a discrimination lawsuit if they've been handcuffed and if their mugshot wasn't deleted.

@@josephlee961 That's ridiculous! I'm not saying I doubt that's true, I'm just shocked by the idea of so many people still not being able to face reality. Because there's so much evidence of these things happening that it would take someone intentionally ignoring the facts to believe those deals are going on all the time. Literally running the world with secret deals

Sure you would catch some people doing stuff but the worst part of it all is that 95% of the bs happening in DC is 100% legal (immoral but legal) so in the end your idea would change very little.
