The problem is people who have a certain level of intelligence and a moral compass would never join these gangs of thugs that are given a uniform and an array of offensive weapons to use against the public, therefore they employ the dregs of society. If you are a woman or an ethnic non white person or an unstable nutter and you can speak to get by, then you’re in, they’ve gone through the bottom of the proverbial barrel. I’m a retired NHS paramedic and I’ve seen these evil scumbags in action many times. It’s unfortunate for the few that are honest and not tainted by these undesirables. If you want to know what has gone wrong, look at how difficult it is to bring a successful complaint, prosecution or civil claim against the police. As the Soliocitor who brings cases against the police says "Police culture whose reflex is not only to look the other way when Officers commit crimes but also to unrepentantly defend and uphold those Officers - no matter what the cost to either the principals of justice, or the public purse" And also "long experience has conclusively shown to me that the Police complaint procedure is not fit for purpose ,unless that purpose is to brush Police Misconduct under the carpet and frustrate and deter individuals from pursuing complaints." Until that changes, the police will continue to think they can abuse their powers with impunity, by reason of ignorance, indifference or malice. And it will only get worse.

What the country needs to do is back KZbin auditors. On the face of it, the auditors are antagonistic and much of the public still feel they shouldn’t be wasting police time. The auditors commit no offences, yet are subjected to police officers abusing their powers including; - Unlawful detainment - Demanding details that they aren’t entitled to - Unlawful arrests - Assaults on the public auditors The auditors are carrying out lawful activities, but can’t do so in peace because the officers either don’t know the law, or they don’t care and abuse their powers anyway. Imagine if you were stopped by an officer and you never understood your rights as an innocent member of the public. The officer manages to obtain your details without a lawful purpose. They make attempts to stop you from carrying out a lawful activity in public, by making up laws, getting in to your personal space to intimidate, fail to follow their own force procedures and yet you, the innocent one who is filming legally, are being harassed, detained and in some cases arrested because the officers don’t understand what it means to have grounds to carry out a lawful use of their powers? Yes, it may seem like my comment is a bit off topic. But the point is the same. It is time for the bad apples to be exposed. I say this having served over ten years in uniform, and having been subjected to an unlawful detainment myself. I was threatened with arrest for not providing my details. Fortunately I knew my rights. I had done nothing wrong and had to educate the officer that not providing details is a secondary offence. Because I had not committed an offence in the first place, the officer had no right to my info, or to suggest that I’d be arrested if I didn’t provide them. It’s time to educate yourself, and you can do this by watching videos made by auditors. Whilst there are many auditors, my personal favourite is DJ Audits. He’s calm, knowledgable, and provides a great level of education. I know personally that there are some terrible officers out there, but also some great ones, too. Unfortunately the latter will have to put up with the perceived agro of auditors, but more and more of them are engaging positively and being educated, too. It needs to be done to have a chance of eradicating the sh*t.
