An Orlando, Florida, police officer is pulled over for allegedly speeding. A deputy pulled the officer over, who was driving his patrol car. The deputy reportedly clocked officer Alexander Shaouni going 80 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone. Shaouni now faces charges including fleeing a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, speeding and resisting arrest. He has been “relieved of duty” according to the Orlando Police department pending an investigation.

He doesn’t deserve a medal, every police officer should be expected to do what the deputy did and there’s no excuses! If your going to give a medal to this officer for what we expect him to do, might as well just give a medal to all the cops that do WHAT we expected them to do. It’s their job.
@Aogamii

@@maxpro751 I’m pretty sure that anyone who does their job WANTS encouragement. Motivation is what keeps people going, and although a medal is exaggerated, a “thank you” is sufficient enough.

@@Aogamii A thank you for working hard would be nice ONCE in a while, but getting a thank you everyday for doing relatively normal tasks wouldn’t be encouragement at all and I bet people would find it annoying over time. However, the police force has been getting a lot of bad press over the years and encouraging these good cops to mitigate these bad cops and paint a good picture of themselves would be overall beneficial to the people. So I agree that we should encourage these good cops to counteract and work against these bad cops, but I don’t agree on the fact that we should give thank you’s to cops everyday because that sounds ridiculous.

Orlando police officer Alexander Shaouni has been charged with reckless driving, fleeing or eluding police with lights and sirens active, and resisting an officer without violence.12 He was stopped by a Seminole County sheriff's deputy on June 6, 2023, for speeding at 80 mph in a 45 mph zone down Florida Avenue in an agency-issued patrol cruiser without his siren or emergency lights on. Body-worn camera footage shows Shaouni arguing with the deputy for pulling him over, refusing to hand over his driver's license, and driving away from the deputy.0 His bond was set at $9,000.

How many times do we have to say it. Innocent until proven guilty in a COURT. We know he's guilty. But Inside Edition could face a lawsuit for Libel (or is it slander?) if they say it before he's found guilty or if he for some reason is found not guilty.
