Thank you very much, John, for showing us a real overview of the protests there, the only one i've watched being filmed without any hidden partis-pris, political agendas, as objective as the situation allowed. You're 10000% right about the press waiting for some"juicy" story to unfold, that will bring money and ratings. After all, that is the only thing that ever counts: money. And power along with it. As a person who had the BA thesis done on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (as it was 20 years ago), I would urge people to do research on this topic before they form or express any opinions, that they've watched on TV or online or they've read in some newspaper, no matter how prestigious those nespapers claim to be. The situation in the Middle East is extremely complicated and multi-layered and it has always been like this. As a non-UK and non-Commonwealth citizen, therefore no subjectivism involved on the matter, i would have to agree with you that these protests are indeed very well organized but they also get a very "flexible" response from Police forces. Compare the tens of thousands that came this past weekend with a few hundred that i saw for your St.George's holliday that received a very harsh and unjustifiably severe response from the Police, all in riot gear. All i can say is that the communities that organize these pro-Palestine protests are numerous and powerful, as a collective. The international optics wouldn't look good at all on UK if they attempted to infringe these communities' right to protest there in the UK (that had been offered a safe haven in the first place), while already supporting Israel's domestic policy in Gaza.
