How do you serve a warrant when you don't even know who''s driving a stolen vehicle. ?? Doesn't sound like the person got out and just gave up?? Why does an 18 year old feel he has the right to get into someone else's vehicle that they work hard to pay for ??? That they most likely need to go to work with. Lots of times these stolen vehicles crash into innocent drivers, causing injuries to innocent people, causing all types of property damage, and causing the owner of the stolen vehicle to have problems with their insurance. Innocent people suffer and thousands of dollars are spent , trickling down for others to pay, good decent hardworking folks who did nothing but wake up and find their vehicle gone. The majority of these vehicles are being stolen by juveniles and the punishment for these parties is next to nothing. They steal again and again and again. It's a big game to them...maybe the judges hands are tied, but things need to change. These people seen here in this video seem to have all the answers . yet none of them were there when the incident occurred I don't believe. If the incident never happened where would the parents be?? They evidently don't seem to be teach their son the correct way to behave or live life. It's not like the kid got caught shoplifting. He's driving a stolen car !! Driving a car in a reckless manner could be very dangerous. A vehicle can be considered a weapon...one does not have to be armed with a knife or gun to be considered dangerous. How about if any of those people who showed up for this protest woke . up today and their car was gone from their driveway or from in front of their house. After they came to the realization that their car was stolen where would they go.?? To the police. And what if the police told them they they no longer investigate stolen vehicles due to these circumstances ..well they wouldn't like that . Then when one does investigate and it turns into this ..they don't like that either. Today there is no right or wrong...just people bitching about how THEY think things need to be. As with anything there will always be imperfect scenarios in which some turn tragic. The best way to avoid them is to avoid committing crimes. But the most important thing to do is take responsibility for your actions as a person.... as a parent...

John Guertin in Waterbury Connecticut there is clear pattern of excessive force & police brutality against black & brown people PERIOD ! Not justifying a crime committed let's not justify the actions of the police officers when excessive force is used

While I agree not all police action taken is necessary ....I acknowledge that ..the problem lies within the communities...Unless someone has done something ..whether it be painting a house ...owning your own business or dealing with things the police deal with ..unless one has done those things... it's hard to comment on them..we were not there we don't know exactly what happened.. some things are justified in protesting not everything like people want to believe.....these is good and bad in every walk of life..

Maybe that's because black and brown people are way out of control and dont follow directions when cops tell them things

Hope the kid is ok.. What would u have done if this dude tried running u over and killing u w/o even a care that your life is just as important as another's? Maybe we don't have the full story, but if you weren't a criminal stealing shit that u didn't belong taking....would this of happened to you at all? It's a 2 sided problem here. Criminals cry when they get caught..

Agreed you never see a video where they were doing nothing accept the guy that got choked to death in New York...then these people wanna try to start protests and riot over a criminal

Black people need to stop. Whoever raised this kid failed as this kids was a criminal. I'm all for justice when an innocent person gets killed but this kid was a criminal and was going to end up dead or in jail eventually. These folks are wasting their energy, not all police killings are unjustified. As Black people we are judged differently so when acting a fool like this kid did the only outcome the powers that be know is to shoot to kill. Black people we need to stop giving the cops a reason to shoot us, this kid was no angel and if he was brought up correctly he would have known that we will get killed for things other races won't get killed for.

Excellent !! They have all the answers but don't have the correct answers.. This particular incident was justified , believe me.... but the parents show up when ???? AFTER the fact.......the father is upset I understand ,but the case is under investigation and visitors are restricted...at no time do they even bring up WHY he was shot that conveniently gets left out

I won't argue that excessive force has been used quite a few times with the police department in the city but in the case of this incident? I really feel like the police were in their right if this guy really did try n run him down. Black brown purple idgaf about color! It's the crime committed and if he was white n did the same thing...I hope he woulda been shot the same. U try n murder someone because U were commuting a crime n got caught...now ur trying to kill a cop???

Wether or not he stole a car or not THAT DOES NOT GIVE THEM A REASON TO SHOOT HIM. He is an unarmed minor there is no justifying their actions. Police are here to PROTECT AND SERVE. NOT to DISCIPLINE. Stop letting these police officers make decisions as a judge and a jury.

Ok the facts are that Rashamel -was driving a stolen car -hit a cop in his car while in reverse -got stuck after hitting the cop in reverse started moving forward to run over a cop on the street. Maybe if these two had raised him better this wouldn’t have happened. They waited a few days to arraign him in the hospital because he wasn’t going anywhere.

He ADMITTED to hitting an officer with an SUV on PURPOSE. That is assult with a DANGEROUS WEAPON. What was the officer supposed to do? I don't give two shits if he was White, Asian, French, Purple, Orange, Silver or Black if I was the officer I would have shot him also. Simple solution if you don't wanna get shot don't try to run over an officer with a stolen vehicle. If you don't wanna get pulled over DONT DRIVE A STOLEN VEHICLE. Why didn't they wait to arrest him at home? Hmmmm how would they know who was driving the STOLEN vehicle? Do you think he was gonna just drive home so they could arrest him.......NO. I am sorry he got shot but in the same breath it is HIS OWN FAULT.

Let's answer a few questions. Was he driving a stolen vehicle? Is it against the law to steal a vehicle? Did he refuse to stop for police when told to? Did he hit a police vehicle with the stolen vehicle? Do you honestly think that police officers target black men just to shoot them? Do you think that is something anyone would want to live with (knowing they killed someone for NO reason)? What if it had been a black officer that shot him would it then be ok or would that officer be considered an Uncle Tom? Would it be acceptable for a black officer to shoot a white man had the situation been reversed? Let's stop making the officer the criminal and the criminal the victim. The situation would have been totally different if A.) He stopped when told to stop. B.) He NEVER stole the vehicle in the first place because stealing vehicles is illegal.

Segregation seems like a better idea all the time. Let's get the inevitable war over and do what needs doing. May the smartest, best organized cohort win the war.
