If you're a cop who's consistently able to maintain patience and professionalism with people like this, you deserve respect, and probably a pay raise. Also, if you manage to get busted for drunk and disorderly right outside your own home, you've got a serious problem and need to acknowledge that.

I think in their drunk brains they seem to believe that since they are so close to their house, their safe place where there are many more laws on the books that rightfully keep cops from entering out homes. They seem to feel like (key word being feel), they can do stuff that they couldn’t do two blocks away. Look how she was acting in her buildings lobby. Saying it was her house and they cant be there. I don't think you can really blame alcohol for this type of behaviour. All the alcohol is does is make it harder to hide true colors. What a P.O.S.
@adammiller91793 ай бұрын
Can't say without seeing her sober. Alcohol makes everyone stupid. No one is immune from that effect.
@PitifulDelay3 ай бұрын
Alcohol lowers inhibitions. People are nothing but inhibitions. From a young age, we are taught to curb our natural behaviors. Taught what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Taught to hold things in and only let them out when the time or activity is deemed appropriate. Alcohol makes it easier for us to do things that we wouldn't otherwise do. A little bit of liquid courage to help you dance like no one is watching isn't an issue. The issue comes when you consume so much that you become stripped of inhibitions and revert to being a toddler. That doesn't necessarily mean that that's the person's true colors. Also, I don't pretend to understand why, but different alcohols affect people differently. My mom won't do jello shooters because they're typically made with vodka and vodka apparently causes her to resurrect every sin a person has committed from even before they were born and slam the door off its hinges. Tequila seems to remove the filter between my brain and mouth and all tact goes out the window. Some people get giddy. Some people get weepy. Some people become obnoxious. Some people become "I love you, man." Some people get violent. If one is going to drink, it's important to know one's limits. IMO, our true colors are reflected in the choices we make and how we choose to inhibit ourselves rather than how we behave when our inhibitions are lowered. Though, one of those choices, clearly, can be to ignore your limitations.

@@PitifulDelay My best friend turned to drink after a bad breakup. She was a kind and gentle person but changed with drink. Eventually drink became more important than people that loved her, and she lied and manipulated. Her body was wrecked and she died of a heart attack. It was hard to imagine she was capable of acting that way, for me it was less about removing her inhibitions and more that she changed as drink became the dominate driving force in her life. I might be telling myself that to cope, however as your explanation was very compelling and well written ❤
@PitifulDelay3 ай бұрын
@@drunkenarmadillo3827 I'm sorry to hear that about your friend. Alcohol -- I guess any substance, really -- can cause personality changes on two levels. The first one is at the consumption level. That's where the lowered inhibitions, emotional regulation, and impulse control are reduced. The second level is when it becomes an addiction. The behavior changes because the body and mind are focused only on getting the substance. It's sad and difficult for everyone.
