Yes, and the expectations for kids in school can be so low as well. The teachers or school staff were engaging with this girl while her behavior is completely absurd. They were arguing with her...no, that behavior doesn't get attention as educators. I used to work as a behavioral specialist, and was with behaviorally and emotionally troubled children to put it nicely. Reinforce appropriate behavior, and do not reinforce the inappropriate. I would not have put energy into engaging with a drunk 13 year old. Simple commands and consequences and until she can speak with respect and treat people as humans she gets ignored. be careful about passing judgement so quickly. mom arrived to pick up daughter thinking ok kid's having a bad day. she was completely blindsided with information that she's in the other room in police custody. that's heavy news for any parent and not easy to process. later when the other officer came out and talked to her, she had time to process things at least a little bit, but the details still threw her off balance. especially if this is her youngest, her baby, and none of this had ever happened before with miss 13 or older siblings, the response you see in this video is knee-jerk, not rational after fully digesting the facts. i noticed mother referred to herself as "custodian" so i doubt the reality of home is 2 biological parents with a healthy marriage. take a child with emotional problems that are likely undiagnosed, add some chemical instability beyond typical pubertal changes, put that child in a less than ideal home situation, and a school setting where staff/faculty fail to connect with her no matter how much compassion they have (it's there and apparent to me whether anyone else sees it or not), even if she has real friends not many her age are equipped to recognize a problem when they see it and know how to help her through it. miss 13 very likely feels isolated and hopeless without awareness of how she or anyone else can help her deal with the shit kids have to deal with today on top of her probable mental issues. perfect mom? none are. every parent makes mistakes. mom not doing her best? idk. go interview the family and observe how mom does her momming, THEN pass judgement. edit: then there was the mom's complaint to the pd. mom's complaint is very clearly misinformed, manipulated by miss 13's version of events. no parent wants to admit that their child has problems. every parent wants to believe their child's version of things. this mom is in denial, and yes, that is a problem. i hope she sees this video and realizes the severity of her daughter's problems.

Unfortunately that’s exactly what I was thinking. She’s going to get pregnant early, her mom will take her of her kid while she runs around going in and out of jail. Exactly. Your sweet little kid didn't just wake up like this one morning. "It's society's fault." "The internet is to blame." No, it's your shitty parenting. As well as the law, she only got battery charges? That’s insane given her behavior. Her mother has a twisted view of love if she thinks she’s getting a future with that behavior and does nothing about, but rather encourages it. She’ll have no problem doing it again, this girl needs jail times and probation. Here in the state of Kansas you can get your drivers licenses suspended before you can even get a license if caught drinking under age. No driving under the influence needed.
@t.c.white-tiger71349 ай бұрын
agree and the fact that she called the pd to file on the officer is shameful. I think the mother needs to be brought in and made to watch the video of her daughter and explain how her daughter is such a good daughter can act like that. The fact that she also allowed her daughter to get on the phone and run her mouth off. I guess that says a lot on how she sees her daughter and having her see the bodycam footage would do nothing and most likely would not see the truth any way

Government is definitely a problem, especially in this case. She’s on probation and they release her to her mom. This mom came there with a cousin and in any culture that means you’re ready to fight.
