Definitely kurwa. I can swear like a sailor in Polish. My friends think it’s funny to teach me something and only tell me what it means once I’ve remembered it! 🤣

Work in a restaurant (not in Poland) which had a particularly troublesome drunk guest at closing time who refused to leave and security weren't picking up because they were busy with another place on the block. The guest starts talking and swearing in polish (recognized from the same words coming from our polish chef). Said chef gets wind of this happening, walks out to the table, stomps his feet once, points to the door and shouts "Spierdalaj" Drunk guest immediately calms down, starts apoligizing and leaves without a fuss. To this day I thought it was a mafia threat or something

Maybe he said it very adamantly and that's why the said drunk guest left.

Other possible non-vulgar (and only mildly offensive at times) alternatives to "wypierdalaj" would be: "wypierniczaj" (IMHO, the least vulgar one) and "wypierdzielaj" (mildly offensive). Just my 2 cents, Michalina. BTW, very convincing intonation! It sounded authentic! :-)

Thanks for this, very informative! i do have a question though, when you were saying "pierdolić coś" the example you provided didnt actually include that, it said "pierdolę to" which was more like the "ja pierdolę" from the beginning. i get that this might be obvious to people who speak polish (which i don't, im trying to dabble a bit) so could you clarify? from my reasoning, im assuming pierdolić is the infinitive form of the verb? and you just used it in the first person? if so what are other ways to use this one? thanks!
@yourpolish
@yourpolish 3 жыл бұрын
I love your nickname ! Yes, "pierdolić" is an infinitive form of the verb. I separate "ja pierdolę" from "pierdolić coś" to show that "ja pierdolę" can be used on its own as a comentary to a particular situation; more like a phrase. "Pierdolić" as a verb has several meanings, hence I indicate that in the context of letting something go, giving up, not caring about something really, we need to indicate what it is that we don't care about - we need an object. "Pierdolę to" could be used in a situation when you have been trying so hard and you are done trying - you are done with an overall situation; you don't care anymore. As "to" in Polish can be used to indicate an object, here it would refer to "an overall situation I find myself in". Hope that helps !

kurwa mać is good. But to get it right you really need to hang around some polish brother in laws who have had one to many jimna peevos and struck a thumb with a hammer. It is truly an art form and theatrical performance to watch them grimace ferociously and rip it out while really rolling that r and putting great emphasis on the mac. It is even more hilarious if the fellow fancies himself a master carpenter (they all do) and have been trying to modify the construction to meet one of your outlandish requests. (they are all considered outlandish requests). Then you get to watch them parade around yelling Dva eench! dva eench! in frustration for being asked to increase a factory built kit wall height by 2 inches.

One my other half said then regretted as I picked up on it and asked 'what was that?' was spierdoliłeś. She said it means the job's f--ked. I use it at work quite a lot now. One of the first I learnt and surprised some Polish friends that I'd jumped from Cześć to something a bit stronger was wścibski skurwiel.. Used often at curtain twitchers and those who stare through windows into houses where I''m working. My other half said it's very strong and shouldn't be repeated in front of babcia.. I know better than that lol. Even spadaj would get a whack across the back of the head.
