Nurses in the English NHS have not accepted the pay offer of 5.5 % from Labour. Nurses in the Scottish NHS accepted a 5.5% increase in their pay from the Scottish government but they are starting from a higher base than nurses in the English NHS. Scottish Teachers have accepted the pay rise for 2024- 2025.

So far, Labour have shown themselves to be an utter disaster. They have sufficient numbers to hang on in government for the foreseeable future, but the public animosity towards them is now palpable. In the long run, they are doomed.

We cannot afford to produce things because our work force costs too much to make profit. Unless you introduce isolationist tariffs - which themselves are likely to cause an increase on our side - you cannot compete. It's crap and an utter disgrace that we are in such a mess, but we need to fix it so that younger generations don't suffer an adult life of stagnation like myself. 3 generations will need to sacrifice sadly.
