I hate to say it but Biden was one of the most left wing presidents in US history, particularly on social issues, and Harris would have been even more to the left. A lot of polling seems to show that more Americans thought the Dems had gone too far to the left than Trump had gone to the right. Unfortunately if anything, this election vindicates Starmer taking a much more pragmatic approach and giving major concessions on issues like immigration and trans rights.
