The Australian National Editor Dennis Shanahan discusses the latest Resolve Political Monitor figures which show support for the Coalition is on the rise.
“What we are seeing is a relentless, it is small but relentless movement, it is moving in the Coalition's favour, and what we are seeing is Anthony Albanese losing approval as Prime Minister,” Mr Shanahan told Sky News host Caleb Bond.
“The most important thing of all is that on issues, particularly the cost of living, economic management, housing costs and climate and the environment, Labor is in big trouble.”

Indeed. The current government has been colluding with ridiculous and economically destructive popular delusions. Net Zero is prohibitively costly, impractical and totally unnecessary. The carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels have the net beneficial effects of greening of planet with increased agricultural yields (main effect), reduced winter heating costs, fewer deaths from hypothermia and postponement of the next glacial maximum. We need to withdraw from the Paris Accord and use the most economical energy resources available. The massive misappropriation of taxpayers money and resources into uneconomical and unreliable renewable energy projects needs to be stopped.

NDIS. Well said Dennis Shanahan. As a parent of a disabled son , I see the rorting by parents of self managed funds , and the rorting of some providers. The Ndis are very accessible as I have problems as does our sons NDIS co-ordinator with a provider that does not have the right or trained up staff that knows how to supply correct paperwork for funding , so my son has been given 90 days to find other accomodation. He is a 43 year old man and has been in his current home for 3 years nearly, great support , piss poor administration yet after 40 years at home , the 3 years where he is now , he will be shunted if funding isn`t forthcoming due to incorrect invoicing by provider. Sad , Sad , Sad.

I know of a girl who calls herself a boy and is early 20's, is on the spectrum (low level) but just plain lazy and is on NDIS support cause her mother knows how to tick the right boxes due to her Gov job. The Government are talking about "only increasing the NDIS by 8%" when they should be cutting existing funding by 90%. NDIS was not meant as a catchall, that's what the medicare system is for, it was meant for people in the worst straits, and even then only for as long as needed. Can't walk? here's a wheelchair and a ramp for your home, done. Got mental issues? here's some medication and (actual) therapy, done. We expected practical solutions, not cruises, dungeons and dragons and lego.

@@tedburnard841 I didn't say he was elected by the people No one is elected by the people to be PM it happens in the party room. If you are Politically aware you know there is no law that says the PM has to be a Member of the House Of Representatives it is Tradition John Gorton could have been PM for the full term (as long a his party was ok with that) if he wanted to No Law stopping Senator Hansen from being PM
@tedburnard841
@tedburnard841 8 күн бұрын
Geez! Would love to see Hanson as PM! Imagine that! You are partly right in that the PM is not elected as PM by the people. The leader of a party is elected by that party, however the PM must have been elected to parliament by the people in his or her electorate in the first place. Before polling day, we all know what parties are standing for election and who their leader is. Whatever party is elected to government, that party’s leader becomes PM. I just hope that we can be rid of the current pathetic grubberment ASAP
