@ he toured the US as a solo artist in 1983, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1992 & likely more. I even have a radio concert from the last show of the 1987 tour from the Paradise Rock Club, Boston 1st September 1987. Not sure why you would think he didn’t tour the US given it isn’t exactly difficult to find his tour history or the number of bootlegs from that era.

THE MESSIAH WILL COME AGAIN.... More feeling, emotions, extraordinary talent, expression, stage presens, showmanship, love for playing his instrument, passion to inspire and delight your fans, is not possible. Only Gary can do that, in my opinion. I was lucky enough to see him live on stage once. Here in Cologne, Germany on his "After the War" tour in 1989. Before he switched to the Blues. Unimaginable and unforgettable experience and defently a lifechanger for me. R.I.P. GARY

America had SRV and Europe had Gary Moore. Two of the absolute best to ever do it. Stevie shredded strings and played dirty nasty blues, Gary burned amps to ground and poured his soul through every note. Their souls were fused to their instruments in a way few will ever be blessed enough to approach.

Gary Moore had been playing since the 60's and also played in the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy (he was good friends w/ late bassist/vocalist Phil Lynott)... He launched a solo career in the 70's and was pretty big in Europe by the 80's... Unfortunately, he didn't break big in America until his blues album 'Still got the blues' sold gold in the US in 1990... That success sort of limited his fame as a blues guitarist (He was more of a hard rock guitarist & vocalist w/ heavy blues influences) Tragically, he struggled w/ alcohol abuse and passed away in 2011 at age 58.

Both David and Gary play with full emotion & passion! THAT is the similarity you're hearing. I've been playing guitar for 57 years now, since I was 8 (I am no where NEAR even a good guitarist) and have watched/listened to them all over the decades. Gary is right up there with the very best of them! In my view, he's in the top 25 easily. This was an outstanding solo from him, and very much a demonstration of that emotion and passion that he played with. Plus, he had great vocals!
