Wow the noise reduction and mic on the Orosound Tilde Pro is amazing...it sounds more "closer" to your mic for the video

Hi Trevor, thanks for watching. Both are great headsets but the Tilde Pro definitely has a more natural sound on the mic.

Thank You for this. The microphone on the Orosound sounds much better, however; the noise cancelling on the Poly was the best. I need the best noise cancellation. So I appreciate this.

What do ya'll think about the Jabra Evolve2 75 that just came out?! I think it'll destroy both of these! I'm so glad they finally updated the Evolve 75.
@HeadsetAdvisor

Hey Adam, the Evolve2 75 looks great but we will see how it performs once we get our hands on them. It looks like the Evolve2 75 will be a mix of the Evolve 75, Evolve2 65 and Evolve2 85.

Stay away from Jabra and evolve2 75. If you use the microphone boom to mute by flipping up and down, eventually your microphone will be dead. Then you'll have to pay shipping for Jabra RMA and wait several weeks to receive a replacement. Terrible experience with this company.

I'm trying to look for a plantronics dect headset that connects to a computer, but without using the wireless receiver some of the models have. This is due to potentially losing the small receivers and the cost to replace is about as much as the headset itself. Our office uses the savi 8200 series and connects via usb cord to a laptop, but they are impossible to find now and have been back-ordered since summer. Do you have any recommendations?
@HeadsetAdvisor
@HeadsetAdvisor 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jackson, unfortunately there's no DECT headsets that don't use a USB receiver or charging base. The back orders have been crazy on a number of different headsets, this being one of them. We may have a few alternative options for you to consider. Email us at info@headsetadvisor.com or call at 1-800-683-5715 and an Advisor can help.

It seems that the Focus 2 has a fixed mic (only rotates). Is it possible to bend it to change the distance from the mouth? Or just rotate it?
@HeadsetAdvisor
@HeadsetAdvisor 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Gabriel, you can only rotate the speaker to adjust the microphone closer or further away from your mouth, it's not bendable unfortunately.

When you do Mic Test - how do record sound ? If one of the users of same Poly or Orosound device repeats similar test - will that person get similar results ? I tried to repeat your mic test. Do you just use Standard Windows Voice Recorder app ? Or instead you call someone, or someone calls you via Teams or Skype - and you record the voice ? I am asking, because I found that when I am in Teams call - Voyager Focus 2 UC blocks noise as I see in your video - very impressive, teams test call recording shows no background noise recorded, only my talk or silence when I did not talk. However, if I use standard Windows voice recorder app - about 30% of noise gets through. When I listen to recording - I hear not only my voice, but significant amount of noise got recorded too. I wonder if that is expected behavior of Voyager Focus 2 UC - to block almost all noise only during teams or skype call, and block only about 60-70% of noise if I use other app like standard Windows Voice Recorder ?
@elizabethperez1484
@elizabethperez1484 3 жыл бұрын
It may be the Teams feature blocking the sound in settings.

Hi Haus, we record our mic tests with Windows voice recorder. When you use Teams or Zoom for example, they have AI noise canceling software built in to reduce the background noise.

I wish you would consider audio level matching for the different microphones please? It is hard to make a true comparison when the level differences are significant. The Orosound Is a little softer and the highs are not as crisp as the Poly. So I found it difficult to compare. They were both excellent though.
@HeadsetAdvisor
@HeadsetAdvisor 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff, how do you mean on matching the audio levels? Are you saying to keep the mic volumes the same across all tests?
@jsfbay1
@jsfbay1 3 жыл бұрын
Also, please refresh our memories; the Poly Voyager uses micro USB, but what connector does the Tilde Pro have? Also, to what do you attribute the range difference? Does Bluetooth 5.1 have a stronger signal, is it just advertising fluff to rate the Poly higher, or what? Thanks, and as I said in a previous comment, they both sound and look great to me. Oh, one last question: does the Tilde Pro have any kind of busy light?
@HeadsetAdvisor
@HeadsetAdvisor 3 жыл бұрын
The Tilde Pro uses USB-C and to be up front we really have no idea on why it goes further. Maybe a difference in the chips Orosound uses. Also, yes the Tilde Pro has a busy light on the mic and on the outside of both speakers.

When I turn on ANC on the Poly Voyager Focus 2 in a quiet room, I hear a very pronounced amount of hiss/white noise. Is this normal? I'm guessing if you're in a noisy room, you won't notice the hiss, but I thought it was really weird and distracting :-(

it is insane to have microphone on right hand side and no option to turn it around like most of Poly may do. And even worse to have USB cable on the same right hand side as most use mouse by right hand. Who these engineers design this for? like my working Jabra Evolve 75. USB adapter it is another possibility for vendors to squeeze out more coins from buyers as you can't pop out and have an option without this not worth $100 adapter. As most people use already laptops at work and all do have BT. Removing microphone it is something what I love over here.
@HeadsetAdvisor
@HeadsetAdvisor 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! Fair point on the microphone not being able to switch from right to left, that is one adjustment we'd like to see from Orosound in the futre, but not a dealbreaker for most. Also, most work headset we've tested have the USB port on the right side and the USB Dongle atleast in the US is only $50USD, so very affordable in comparison to other brands. The USB Dongle may seem like it's a play to get more money from you but it's actually not true. The added USB Dongle gives improved audio, more stable connectivity and advanced features in certain cases vs connecting directly to a computer via Bluetooth.

@@HeadsetAdvisor Strangely working Android KZbin App, answered-answered at night, opened to correct errors and there is nothing right here. Let get it again from my memory. thank you for your answer. 1. Jabra Link 380. For the UK on our official web site it costs £118.80. So, I afraid for costly Jabra Evolve 2 85 instead of £529.20 we might deduct this cost. As there is no option without them unfortunately. 2. Quite disagree with statement about distance, quality and reliability. Waited my Jabra Link before someone found it out to test. Tested against internal BT 5 Class 1 on Dell Latitude 7200 2-in-1. And can confidently confirm. a. there is no difference in distance. At the same place of our house, sound slightly drops and distortion appears for both connections. b. There is no and can't be difference in quality, as far as both use HFP 1.6 I assume that supports wideband sound. For two days I tried to persuade myself that this adapter is necessary, and finally dropped it into desktop drawer. this USB dongle has advantage in case to connect to Desktop but not for a laptop. And yes, it doesn't install any BT drivers but ordinary SoundAdapter appears in the system. 3. Very tricky to switch over between corded(USB) connection and wireless with this adapter. As when your call starts soon, there is not 100% sure it will work ether and need to dance around all the time. 4. this adapter doesn't produce any Stereo sound. as I believe, there is no other profiles there. So this limits its use for calls only and not for anything else.

@@ZhenyaTyoma I'm a bit confused because you're talking about a Jabra product, but in this video it's an Orosound and Poly headset. The USB Dongle we referred to is from Orosound which is only $50 USD. Also, I understand your personal tests seem fine without the Dongle, and that's also the case for some other customers as well. That being said from experience of talking with customers the last 3 decades, there's a wide use of different models of laptops/computers with all different specifications that will not operate consistenly across the board with Bluetooth headsets unfortunately. If you can get away without using the USB Dongle, then great! But this is why the USB Dongle is necessary for many people, and if you use apps like Teams, Zoom, RingCentral etc.. no matter which Bluetooth headset you have, if you don't use the Dongle, you will not get advanced features like being able to answer/end away from the computer or seeing your mic is muted during a meeting.
