When buying from bikesonline. Always buy when they go on sale. Sales are frequent and d7 can be gotten for the d6 price (obviously the d6 on sale is even cheaper). My opinion is that the 2-400 odd dollars makes the rider choose the right bike themselves. If you care enough about mountain biking, the relatively small price hike for the significant improvement will be worth it. If you are not very serious about mountain biking, then the extra cost will not be worth for you and you will get the d6 which will be perfect for you anyways. Edit - I have the D7 (special edition) and I am what most would refer to as an enthusiast. I haven't found the need to upgrade anything except the tyres/sealant/inserts.

I loved that you didn't hold back and went into the weeds on the specs. For that I am subscribed! Every other channel has a watered down overview that dosnt really explain anything to newbies.. now you mentioned the T7 in this video.. Luckily I have money for either the D7 or the T7. Im coming from the roadie side of things and I am just getting into mountain biking. Which bike do you recommend? For whatever reason Im leaning more to the xc side of the spectrum and really like the D7. But... I also dont want to regret not buying something with a little more trail grunt as I live in washington state. I see that they are different frames.. but the geometery isnt that much different between them. I like that the D7 is fast and climbs well with decent downhill potential.. but the T7, well I probably would be set with that bike for years without having to upgrade and better suspension for the rough stuff albiet it doesnt climb as well... I just dont know lol

Nice, I went with a Ltwoo ax12 1x12. Then upgraded that to a 2x12 when I installed my torque sensing motor. I might change it to a 2x9 for extra strong transmission whilst keeping 50t cassette.

Good comparison brother. 🤔What about the d5? I went with the d5 and completely upgraded it into an all mountain suntour 160mm fork, over shocked to 135mm rear travel, torque sensing motor with a 2x 12 custom transmission. It is now a bang for Buck E mtb monster all for less than the d7. My bike is now so capable I ride dirt bike trails, check out the super slow motion video of my bike absorbing a landing. I'll have a full long term review and build video of the siskiu d5 soon.

Debating on the d7 or the d7 se... It's a lot to consider and i am totally new to the sport minus a hard tail I bought last year... Unsure of the SE or d7 which is better platform, i think the tires and wheels are better on d7 but the se has the boost front wheel hub. Id love an opinion on this.

How wide are the inner rim width? How do these frames feel? Stiff enough? Do the thave the hammock feel or proper? They seem to have a robust and good linkage design and seem quite stiff. @rgmtb2 жыл бұрын
Solid bike for sure! What I really like about it is that it comes as a 1x so no front mech to deal with AND thru axle in the back. I've actually always liked this bike and was hoping to review it at some point. Totally a great bike to get started with but I do need to ask, what kind of terrain are you planning to ride? With no rear suspension and no dropper post I'm hoping you are just looking to ride some basic single track to get started. If you do feel that the bike is a bit tough on your back I would HIGHLY recommend looking into the PNW Coast dropper post. It has just a touch of suspension to take the edge off. From what I can see in Xtrada 7 picture the option for an internal routed dropper is available. The Coast comes in both internal and external so you're set either way. Below are a few links for you.... Here is my link to the Xtrada 7 - If you felt this comment was helpful would you mind buying your bike through this link please. It helps me out big time! bikesonline-usa.sjv.io/qndjRO Here is a link to the PNW Coast Dropper I was talking about. I am almost decided on the d7. The suspension on the d5 is shocking (pun not intended) my only consideration is should I buy this. Or spend a similar amount on a used bike and get higher end bits. Am I just being greedy? This will be my first new bike in many many years. I don’t know what trails I will ride on yet as my current bike is not suitable to go find out. 20+ year old xtr mech, wheels. And chilli forks…
@rgmtb2 жыл бұрын
I've got nothing against buying used. My only question would be your knowledge around working on bikes. If you go used you're pretty much on your own when it comes to support. Now that could be fine if you know what you're doing and have some basic bike tools. Now if wrenching on bikes is not your thing then I would recommend going with something new.

@@rgmtb thanks for the reply! 20 years ago I built my own bikes. But tech has moved on. And I don’t have the specialist tools. I have another dilemma now tho. The last one sold on sat… but I can get a medium with 29” Should I get the medium move the seat back, and consider a longer stem if I feel a little cramped. Or start all over again looking for a suitable alternative without spending loads more money?

Whats the proboem with the fork? Why upgrade?
@rgmtb2 жыл бұрын
Kind of heavy, very bouncy and limited adjustments. It's not horrible but not as nice as the my higher end AXON-Elite34 Boost. Also, the stock fork can not use volume spacers from what I remember. It's just more on the entree level side and I wanted something higher end since the bike gets used on some pretty rough trails. For normal trail riding the stock would be cool.

Getting the D5 (IMO) is basically buying a bike to upgrade. Right now the D7 is the one I'm pushing for folks that don't want to change an thing. It's a sold bike and done out of the box. What I liked about the D6 is that it gives you just enough higher end parts over the D5 to build off of.

Enjoyed the video! Thanks! I own a 2021 D7 and love it! I have a large sized frame and I like the fit, however the dropper post is a 170mm and it about 15-20mm to tall for me. Do you know if it is adjustable at all? I’ve seen some droppers have a plastic shim that you can rotate to shorten the height. I am tempted to take it apart and see if this one has the shim, but then I saw your video and thought you might know. Thanks

Were you running tubes in the D7 in the footage in the video? I just got this bike and I'm wondering what pressure I should run to avoid pinch flats, it's rocky where I am as well.
@rgmtb2 жыл бұрын
It was awhile ago so I apologize I do not remember. I can tell you that I did not run it with tubes for very long at all because it's the first thing I change. Thing is, the tires that came on this bike where not tubeless ready and I needed to buy new ones that where so I don't remember when I made that change. How much do you weigh if you don't mind me asking. When I was 190 I would run those tires at 24 psi at least to keep from pinch flats. It's gonna be a really hard ride but it will keep from getting pinch flats.
@ericcartmansstrengthandpow59602 жыл бұрын
@@rgmtb Probably 180ish. The last bike I had was also tubed and a hardtail. Pretty sure I was running 30+ psi which was terrible for traction, but luckily I never flatted. With a FS I may be able to get away with less.
