why are there so many song that use a 5 string bass😭?? Should I buy one or just stick to playing notes 1 octave higher than the original?

I definetly recommend to at least try one. You can always sell it if the bass doesn't suit you.

If you have a 4 string bass you can string it for BEAD tuning. You need a luthier to widen the nut and adjust the neck/bridge. I did it because i usually play low tuned songs and i didnt have money for a 5 string kkkkkk
