Bro, I’m 21 and we are in 2024 about to be in 2025. One kamen rider show that I know came out is 2003 kamen rider faiz or fi or 555. Kamen rider ryuki (which also means dragon knight) came out before kamen rider faiz. So 2002. If your referring to the American adaptation I think it came out in 2005-2006 one sec (Looks it up) Never mind it came out in 2008 dang I got to wait 3 years. Also sir Retro I recommend kamen rider geats not to review. Just to watch although I do want an adaptation of it.

Yeah, Masked Rider really did stained the Kamen Rider name in the West. Only until Dragon Knight at least…though even then, Dragon Knight didn’t even get any home release. So with you covering Masked Rider, do you plan on covering the other Western toku shows like VR Troopers, Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, and Beetleborgs?

The transition from Black to RX is weird. At the first glance, it like your normal sequel continuation but they make it weird as if the Sequel is more of a alternative universe where black continued his story and become RX instead of a normal sequel due to overtime supplementory materialmaterial where Black meet his RX version and act as if they are completely different version of each other instead of the same person.

I'm surprised you didn't mention how they butchered the footage of the past riders, with almost all of them getting their names changed their names are originally Ichigo (it means number 1) Nigo (it means number 2) V3 (pronounced as written, it's not said "Version 3") Riderman X Amazon Stronger Sky-Rider Super-1 ZX (pronounced Zed-Cross) Here's what Saban made it: Warrior Leader (Nigo? SKIPPED) Warrior Commander (Riderman? SKIPPED) X is now V3 Amazon is now Riderman Stronger is now X Sky-Rider, well, let's let him say it ( *I AM AMAZOOOOON!* ) (yes that became a meme) Super-1 is now Strongman (not even Stronger, just freakin' Strongman.) the Sky-Rider and Super-1 names are skipped, so ZX gets an almost correct name (ZEE-cross instead of ZED-cross) *IT WAS AN UTTER DISASTER.*

I loved watching Kamen Rider BLACK and RX. Masked Rider on the other hand, I enjoyed watching him on Power Rangers and when the TV show came out, but after a while it got pretty annoying... The naff comedy, Ferbus, the irritating music (which was later used in Digimon and also in the "Saban" closing logo), Dex's voice sounding like he's taking the whole Masked Rider thing way too seriously, Dex going "EUUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!"... and I stopped watching it. Masked Rider DID air on Fox Kids UK quite alot of times. I don't know if you had Sky at the time but Fox Kids UK had this "Packed Lunch" block shown after school where they would show Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and Masked Rider, and it would have short portions of VR Troopers episodes shown inbetween them (which I didn't like, I'd rather just have them show the whole episode). I do remember Masked Rider also aired on GMTV, but they would eventually move it to Sunday mornings... I think there was a tradition on British morning kid's TV where if a show was losing rating and they still had plenty of episodes to air they would move it on Sundays... I think this is why Power Rangers in Space and Lost Galaxy were on CITV on Sundays. It also had a DVD release but with only 3 episodes.

I remember Masked Rider VR Troopers and Beetleborgs think saw some on GMTV kids and some on Fox Kids (more Beetleborgs) didn't like any of them that much as a kid being just rubbish/silly power rangers wannabes 😂 although I did end up liking Beetleborgs somewhat from Metallix and I think me enjoying those meant I liked Justin in Turbo and never thought of it as an issue. Although I didn't remember any of the shows ending they just werent on anymore but that was likely in part to fox kids/NTL being too pricey and we went back to whatever GMTV showed us

I guess I don’t have to slog through Masked Rider 😂 I just thought it might be people who are biased because they like Kamen Rider so much, but it honestly does look awful. It’s no wonder Toei didn’t let the franchise get adapted again till Dragon Knight (which I am planning to watch) it’s a shame the adaptations haven’t continued, Power Rangers being in the public eye probably hasn’t helped and people’s perception of the Toku medium.

It honestly made no sense that what looks like a bunch of cave dwellers made Alpha 5. If there were cities and technology on Edonoi that would be a different story. I think making it a spinoff in the PR main timeline makes no sense. Why would Dregon try to attack a planet Rita and Zedd are in the process of trying to conquer. It would have made more sense to ditch the Alpha connection and have Rita and Zedd send the Rangers to an alternate universe with Edonoi. Power Rangers and Masked Rider defeat Dregon and the Edonoites are able to send the Power Rangers back to their own universe. Dregon then decides to take over the Earth in his universe so then we get Masked Rider the series. Otherwise it makes no sense that they would never team up again.
