Love Joe's guitar. Vintage Japanese Gibson copy, Orlando or Maxitone. Great tones.
@BitterrootRambler11 жыл бұрын
Its an Orlando. . Its just a cheap Japanese guitar. From the lawsuit era at the matsumoku factory in Japan. The factory would make the guitar and then American companies would slap their name on it. Epiphone, Ibanez, National, Cort. . . they were all doing it. Iv'e got that exact same guitar, I've also seen it in a 12 string version. They are known for the extremely cheap single coil pickups that are noisy as all hell and very vintage sounding.
@TheDustyPanther12 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the have a bit of chorus and also a very subtle flange effect on the verses, there's also some tremolo at certain points, and then a bunch of distortion on the chorus. That was probably no help to you, but hopefully it's a start.

I saw Pond live in 2022 and I knew they were going to go crazy with Giant Tortoise, but I wasn't expecting the outro that they did! Now that I've heard it, the outro was the chorus during Eye pattern blindness. They blend together REALLY well!

How I get that guitar sound @ 2:54? Tremolo and distortion?
@thod83588 жыл бұрын
+Semisynthetic Psychedelic the distortion was probably a pedal, though knowing pond and their fondness of playing loud it could be the amps gain all the way up. and im assuming the tremelo came from a fender deluxe verb amps vibrato setting. i could be wrong though

Do consider that America is comprised of many different cultural and diverse ethnic backgrounds. Yes, it could be true that some sweden guy invented, let's say.. the graphical user interface, an american invention. What mattered is that he was an american immigrant, the idea might have been conceived somewhere else, but his citizenship is american, you wouldn't call an invention made by a Hispanic american a Mexican invention. but I see your point.

The psychedelic rock scene began during the late 1960's simultaneously in America and England, but gained traction in America. just how The Blues, rock and roll, and rap are American born genres of music. To be American is to become popular by America, America is a melting pot of numerous cultures and ideas. To be technical, you could say that someone's great uncle Italian immigrant started the tradition of fireworks on the fourth of july.

This is such a biased claim. Music is universal. Yes, it might have originated and become popular in America but there are Psych/rock bands all over the world. Classic and Folk are very popular genres in America also, but you don't hear people calling it the European Classical or European Folk scene. Each nation does have their own scene and style but to say it's American because it's popular is beyond stupid.
