The L76 has such a nice, smooth tone to it. Normally I’d take the sound of the 5.7/6.4 Hemi over an LS, but not in this case.

The G8 (The baby brother/ just like the Camaro) in a sense is kinda like a BABY Blackwing and almost all dodge owners even admit that the blackwing sounds better. NUFF said.

Lol. 4th transmission (1st was my fault, second the converter failed, 3rd had a bad valvebody and the 4th is built built... And lasting), 2 aftermarket cams (1st had LS7 lifter failure) and now I need to rebuild the suspension. I've had her 9 years and I don't regret anything. Lol

I love the the way my 5.7 R/T sounds after the mid muffler delete. I ALSO love the crap outta Pontiac as a whole. I’m so torn lol like most of us. But I’d have to say the Hemi for the more rowdy bunch here. LS for the more humble. There I cracked the code!!!

I bought my Pontiac G8 GT new in 2009! I still own it and love this machine! It's a shame GM gave up the Pontiac brand as the G8 is a terrific sport sedan. I've had mine cammed, supercharged and set up for E85 with dual fuel pumps and ram air. It was dyno tuned using HP Tuners. It makes 715 hp and 625 ft.lbs torque on 12 lbs of boost with E85 and 2% methanol. It'll go! 💥💨🚔

@@just_a5.7 it has a forged crank, pistons and rods. It is still 6.0 liters and not a stroker. They did a delete of the active fuel management as that was a weak spot in the motor. The stock fuel injectors were replaced with Bosch Injector Dynamics 1050 injectors with dual fuel pumps. It has a Magnuson 2300 series supercharger. I run E85 for higher octane around 105. I had teflon lined fuel lines installed because of the corrosion characteristics of the ethanol. It's a good running engine and puts down the power.

Muffler and tube size can completely determine that. The heads on the hemi though will make the raspy sound while the ls is a different structure. The cam profiles are also very different. It mostly comes down to the muffler type though on the g8.

Totally agree! There are so many things that play a role in the sound of an engine even before the spent gasses enter the exhaust manifold/header. I am a Chrysler/Dodge guy myself, but I will admit they don't sound as good as ol' GM engines and even Ford makes a better exhaust note than the current line of 5.7s

I love my Ram 1500s 5.7 hemi, but when I hear any LS with an equal length exhaust, I just cry because I know my truck won't ever sound like Kenny's Silverado from Northern Performance Cars. My truck probably would sound good with equal length pipes, but not as smooth. 😂
