In this video I show how I used Rustoleum or in Canada it's Tremclad to paint the 38 Pontiac for a grand total of 100 dollars Canadian or 70$ US. There's still plenty to do but for now she's one color.
If you like these videos, give it a like , comment and subscribe!
Thanks!

I’ve said it before, props to you for putting some paint on it. The whole leave it in primer thing is so played out. It’s sweet and I agree that some cream or tan accents would be cool.

George W. Morrow lll, you right on about ' leave it in primer' thing. I started doing the body work, sanding and priming on my 98 dodge ram 4 years ago, got kinda burnt out for awhile as the whole time I was working on it I was recovering from beating stage 3 lung cancer, not as quick as I used to be, chemo and radiation beat the hell out of me. About 4-5 months back I had to re-sand and prime, that was a chore. 4 weeks ago I finally put paint on it. Sure looks different, Satin Black, reg cab, short wide side. Now I'm not sure if I want to put all the badging back on or leave it anonymous.

Yep needs some cool scroll pinstripe stuff and the wheels too.. Flip the rear bumper just to see what it looks like I think it could be tucked in a bit too but that would mess up the patina on it. I sure admire your skill and vision. The profile at 15:00 is fantastic . Used to paint all my old roundy round cars with Rustoleum. Easy touchup because we rubbed when we were racin!

Perfectly imperfect. That's the best way to put it. Tan accents on the black lines will definitely top it off. Down the road I'd love to see that grille rechromed. Maybe an attempt at this painted on chrome I keep hearing about? Dunno. Looks good brown, black may... possibly... be a bit much considering its size, detract from the car itself. I like it Brent, turned out great!

Cream pin stripes (lots of work but if you paint those grill bars black, a cream pin stripe on each one, reducing in length each bar) I could see running boards and headlight buckets in black. Man, that is a lot of surface to paint. Now that majority of it is painted, you know it will warm up.

Forrest was right ,"life is like a box of chocolates ! " Sure looks great Brent figured you would have been painting buy now .Super happy the way it turned out.Such a nice choice of paint brand with such a large pallet of colors to choose from(trying to sound like I have a fine arts degree...Sorry about that! ) Remember at a carshow before a guy at a booth asked "what's your favorite color," I said primer. He looked puzzled ...then asked "ok what color of primer," My answer was black. Boy was I excited a few years later when you could get Tremclad in three colors. Such a nice choice of paint brand with three choices of black...gloss , semi gloss and flat.(There that sound like me.) The brown looks great Brent!
