If 2nd passes the finish line when the shell was thrown it'll go for 3rd. So I /want/ to say that 1st - 4th had passed the finish line and since he was in 5th when the shell was thrown, it went for him even if he fell back to 7th.

By the time the blue shell was already up to beef boss, who was in third when that happened, Donkey Kong, who was in second, crossed the finish line, and the blue shell had already locked itself on beef boss before Peach and Toad passed him.

After you get hit, you can hold the brake and the gas to charge a standstill mini turbo, this is faster than just holding accelerate. Hold them down until you see blue sparks, then release. You can also do a wheelie after for more speed.

Poof I got some advice for blue shells: If you're in first place and a blue shell is coming, wait for someone to pass you so they can get in first, and then they can get destroyed by the blue shell. There's a big hitbox, so try your best to avoid it. If the blue shell is going to hit you and someone is near you, QUICKLY get near that person so they can get hit too. I hope that's helpful. :)
