I mean isn't that just the Mario kart Wii experience? I used to have a Wii with everything unlocked, recently I bought a new one with Mario kart so I could unlock everything again. I was doing fine until 150cc and everything became chaos. The mirror mode made me furious at times. Get blue shelled on warios gold mine right before the jump with the carts then get bumped off by some fatso. Finally back on track, get hit by someones bullet bill, fly off the track once more. Then after ages you're finally on the track again driving for 1 second, haven't even reached full speed yet. Number 12 bumps into me and off the edge again. I was absolutely livid, blood vessels ready to pop. I was ready to throw the console through the window.

11:40 Poof, the sensor bar is only used when navigating something with the Wii Hand or Cursor, it just emits infrared light. The Wiimotes are Bluetooth and have gyroscopes in them, that's how it is still working. I use Dolphin Emulator on my PC to play wii games and don't have a sensor bar, if I need to use the Wii Hand/Cursor I just light 2 candles. Candles also emit infrared light.

The sensor bar isn't used for mario cart, I assume it just uses an internal level or accelerometer or smth (I'm a professional) all the sensor bar is is two little infared LEDs. You could use candles to achieve the same effect, which I have done many times when I couldn't find the sensor

The top part of the Wii remote seems the 2 lights and uses that to understand where the pointer should be. Wii sports resort uses the sensor bar as a reference. Mario kart doesn’t need it at all unless you want to use the pointer

There's technically a trilogy and the third entry 'Go Vacation' is a beast that I haven't fully delved into yet, but the original was my childhood.
