Ignite is the best CF that I have tried. Solid hit and i like the feel. I tried the revo but I don’t like the sound of the hit. Cynergy is ok but i like the ignite better. I just wish they have more options on the diameter size of the shaft.

Nice video, I enjoyed watching it. You hit the nail right on the head when you talk about the unmatched consistency of carbon fiber shafts. I was an early convert and have been playing a Becue shaft, and butt, as the butt is entirely carbon as well. I chose to go with this cue for one reason - consistency. I found the perfect tip, for me, an ultra skin medium and I may be playing this same cue for many more years to come. Good rolls.

Thank YOU for subscribing and watching :) In regards to a favorite carbon fiber shaft, it depends on how much you want to spend. I really like the Mezz Ignite and SL from Go-Customs, but they are both $500+ shafts. If you don't feel comfortable spending that much, I was really (!) surprised by the quality and playability of the $300 cue that includes a carbon fiber shaft from JFlowers (there is a review on that as well). I've just started these CF shaft reviews, there will be 9 more and a big comparison in the end. Stay tuned :)

Good question. Yes, I think it will take some getting used to. However, you should be able to adapt within a short time frame. Some take 2 hours, and others take 2 days. The key is to stick with it. Hi Spurs! I used a little more than 1 tip of right spin (center) on that shot. I think top left would have killed the speed at the second rail and also given a totally different trajectory (more towards the center of the table and hitting the 8 ball). Most likely I would have run into the 9 as well with top left. Thanks for your question! Keep them coming! :)

I'm still using a wood shaft is there a real advantage to carbon fiber
@CueListings
@CueListings 2 жыл бұрын
This advantage of a carbon fiber shaft is consistency. It won't warp, dink or anything like that. A wooden shaft is prone to the environment you bring it in to and it can easily scratch. At the end of the day, the big advantage of carbon fiber shaft is that it will behave the same way on day 1 and day 1000. A wooden shaft will not.

Hi Bryan! I would rate these 2 carbon fiber shafts the same. Both are top quality. I would be very surprised if you were disappointed by any of them. Are you accustomed to playing with CF shafts?
@alphacapo
@alphacapo 3 жыл бұрын
Top pros are using them because they get paid to do so. Lol. There isn't any advantage to carbon. Keep your hands clean and don't beat your equipment and a good wood shaft can last u pretty much forever. I got wood shafting that's 40 yrs old and it's still in good shape. So I don't know what other guys do to their equipment
@CueListings
@CueListings 3 жыл бұрын
I hear you, however...I've discussed this with several top pros (most recently Jayson Shaw), and they would never play with equipment not up to standard. The payment from their cue sponsors is nowhere near what they would lose from tournaments and money games. So, I can understand where you are coming from, but it's not the case. The biggest advantage to a carbon fiber shaft is that it will not warp or easily get dings and scratches. A wooden shaft is much more exposed to humidity and can easily get scratches. I've always said: use whatever makes you feel the most comfortable at the table. Wood, carbon fiber, or a broomstick 😂
@alphacapo
@alphacapo 3 жыл бұрын
@@CueListings funny thing is they don't have to worry about dings and warps they get new equip all the time for free.....honestly I feel graphite is cheaper to manufacture. Faster to manufacture....and its easier for a company to get consistant results.. the big plus is they have marketed it now as premium so profit margins are way up for compnies. I can remember when graphite was something only found o 50$ walmart cues. Lol. I've played with graphite (carbon...whatever u wanna call it)and it doesn't play or hit any better than a average wood shaft. A great wood shaft trumps carbon hands down imo. U have to buy and play with quote a few shafts but when u find the one....carbon doesn't come close to wood. And besides it feels good to buy a new shaft or cue every once in a while...to spark your interest. This carbon stuff is pretty much all the same. Its consistent. ...but it's boring as hell

@@CueListings while I have your attention. ..what's up with these Peri cues. They aren't big over in the states. I'm curious about them. I used to play with a local cue makers cues for 15 years. He's retired doesn't build anymore. Then I played with schon cues with ivory ferrule shafts and their standard WATER buffalo tips for 10 yrs. I recently switched to low deflection and went with mezz cues. I have three of them now and five of their different shafts. MEZZ plays great. And Great build quality. Are these peri cues coming out of lucasi predator facilities in china?
@CueListings
@CueListings 3 жыл бұрын
@@alphacapo Hi. Peri has been around since 1995. They are maybe the biggest brand in the (billiards) world due to the reason that "everyone" in China prefers them. I would rather say that other brands came out of their facilities..rather than the other way around. Peri used to produce cues for a lot of more well-known brands (in the US). They have been making a push at the US market, but the pandemic seems to have slowed it down. They are similar quality to Mezz and the most expensive Predator cues (in my opinion). You can learn more here www.pericues.com Thanks for engaging!

Carbon fiber is all hype. My Z3 plays better. A shaft needs to be flexible to be a good low deflection shaft. Carbon fiber shafts doesn't flex because carbon fiber is way to stiff. The only thing they're good for is drawing the ball. There is more to the game than that. A good player can play just this good with a Z3 or 314-3 predator so save your money. I have been playing for 60 years and haven't found a shaft yet that plays better since I started playing with a Z3 or 314-3 predator.
@CueListings
@CueListings 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I get your point. However, I don't think it's a matter of carbon fiber being "better" compared to wooden shafts. I think it's more a case of them being way more durable and give consistent results over time. A wooden shaft can warp and give inconsistent results. I think the advantages that a carbon fiber shaft gives are the reason why most pros have started using them...to get consistent results.

Why does every manufactures say not to use water? But it’s OK to use 90% alcohol lol
@jeremybuckets
@jeremybuckets 2 жыл бұрын
Water is perfectly fine to use on carbon shafts. On a wood shaft it will raise the grain of the wood and can cause permanent damage. Alcohol is a better choice because it evaporates far more quickly than water, but still too much liquid of any kind will mess you up.
