I read the info on the Pool Tiger website and I read the brief and interesting paper written by Pool Tiger founder Gary Powell. Both sources mention 'high heat' and/or 'extreme heat' creating in the Hydrodynamic Cavitation process. Have you noticed the Pool Tiger RAISING pool water temperatures? In AZ we definitely don't need a device added to pool water circulation flow that raises water temps in summer! Great review on the Pool Tiger! Appreciate the good info! Looking forward to your after-summer follow up.

That was the first question I asked them when I learned about Hydro dynamic cavitation and how their product uses it. If you look on the website it says that because it vaporized it doesn’t raise the temperature of the pool water at all. And I noticed throughout the entire summer it has no effect on the temperature of the pool. So according to my experience and their documentation on their very own website it says they’re hydrodynamic cavitation Will not raise the temperature of the water.

Any chance you have any updates on how this preformed over the summer? Our pool install starts next week and we are contemplating adding this to the build. Thank you so much for the information you have already provided.

I'm actually doing the follow up video on it next week. The short answer is it performed fabulously and did everything it said it would. The longer answer is that I've had a few subscribers contact the company to find a "dealer" in their area and had a difficult time finding one or getting any help from them. I'm reaching out to the company also next week to find out what's going on with distribution. It's one thing to have a great product which this one is, but if there is trouble with the sales/distribution end of it that's no bueno. Stay tuned.

I purchased the Pool Tiger for $700 and installed it 2 weeks ago. I have maintained the chlorine level at 3-5 ppm with liquid chlorine and still have to brush algae off 1-2 times per week Pool surface is PebbleTec. Water temp at 88 degrees during the day, PH in normal limits. The Pool Tiger doesn't seem to be doing anything extraordinary. Removed scaling with pumice, watching to see if scaling on pool tiles changes.

I am looking forward to the follow up. I have a question regarding that example pool…. What is the CYA level for that pool? I didn’t choose a pool tiger per-se but as part of the package from my pool builder, I have one. I’ll be honest, I chalked it up to a marketing or sales pitch and have been keeping my chlorine at 7.5% to 10% if my CYA so I have been running about 3-4 ppm chlorine. I am afraid to test this theory for fear of a major algae outbreak lol.
@PoolSchooler
@PoolSchooler 2 жыл бұрын
The CYA has stayed around 30 which is on the low "ideal" side. I'm still watching the unit and the pool I have it in to see how it works. We'll see. I'd love to hear your results of having it and how long you've had it in use.

@@PoolSchooler Our pool is pretty new, it was finished at the end of February 2022. So it has only been 4 months total. I am trying to be careful with water chemistry, using the TF-100 test kit sold by troublefreepool. Our tap water was, interestingly... devoid of just about everything. No calcium or anything. Pool store says my TDS is below 500 currently. But, in keeping pH at about 7.5 to 7.7, chlorine at 3-4, calcium around 350, alkalinity a little under 100 (tested 90 this week), CYA around 30, I have not had any issues with water clarity or algae yet. But I am sure that is at least in part, due to the pool being basically new. I will keep an eye out for your next video at the end of the season and post an update myself as well, as a comment.

@@jasonmsmith2 I'm always skeptical of something billed as a "trouble free" pool. Frankly I don't think such a thing exists. Think about "trouble free kids" or any thing else;. No such thing. That said. TDA at below 500 is great. sounds like the unit I working as promised and that's good to hear.

How loud is the cavitation created by the pool tiger? I can't find a pool tiger video with the pump running.

It’s my understanding and has been my experience with the client whose pool we’ve put it in that there is no noticeable difference in sound or loudness. You might want to reach out to the manufacturer at pooltiger.com. and ask them. But I have not noticed any increase in noise with the Pool Tiger.

Hi @pool school, do you have any update after 2022 summer season? Looking forward for an honest final review on this device. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately the owner of the company and head of marketing have had some serious health issues that have delayed the updating of their website. So they have informed me that they're hoping to have everything up and running end of March. Fingers crossed, cause this is a really good product.

@@PoolSchooler, I meant by update, the final review from that specific customer pool where it was installed the device, did the water scale build-up during the summer? And did the water kept crystal clear while using ~10x less chlorine? Thanks for your time and advices.
@PoolSchooler
@PoolSchooler 2 жыл бұрын
@@dmotaco in answer to your questions on updating, one of the reasons I have held back on the update is, I don’t want to frustrate my subscribers by giving it a glowing review, which I am and them, not being able to order it directly for themselves because of the health issues, the owners are having, which is delaying the updating their website. But an answer to your question yes the Pool Tiger worked as promised. There was no additional scaling happening around the waterline of the pool. We used probably 1/4 the amount of tablets the entire summer whereas that pool would’ve gone through five tablets a week we were using three tablets every month at the very most and sometimes only two tablets every month. Also, I never had to add acid or soda ash to maintain the pH nor did I have to adjust the alkalinity. Lastly, the pool remained absolutely crystal clear, and my clients were delighted with all of that.

Pool Tiger installation instructions say to install it AFTER the heater. I’m confused because your video has legitimate concerns involving the heater. What’s the story?? Are the instructions changed from the time of your video or what’s the situation?
@PoolSchooler
@PoolSchooler Жыл бұрын
Yeah, one of my reasons for that is because typically calcium can accumulate in a pool heater, and sometimes it flakes off and finds its way into the pool through the returns so my reasoning was, if the Pool Tiger is after the heater and any of those minerals break loose from inside the coils, they might clog the jets inside the Pool Tiger. However, I believe the reason they recommend putting it before the heater is because the water coming out of the heater is going to pretty hot and that could harm the unit. So I would go with the instructions that they have on their website. My apologies for the confusion.

Coming at the end of summer. Probably late September. But so far the unit has performed terrifically. I've used about half of the chlorine and half of the phosphate remover than normal. Been able to keep the chlorine levels down at 1ppm rather than 3-5 ppm with no problems, cloudiness or green.

Don't quote me on this but it can vary from dealer to dealer. Maybe around $700 but when you consider how much a salt system conversion costs (between $1,200 and $2,000 it's way more cost effective. And salt systems don't hold up well in the AZ heat.

They have dealers around the nation who are licensed through the company to sell and install and each dealer charges differently. I’ve seen it substantially lower than that in some markets.
