when I download it, the zipfile doesnt include the 2 jgp files. I only get the .bin file. please help

HDGUY I used the otherwise please click here update HW1 firmware to get the jpeg files and used the HW2 .bin file to get the 3 total files for the firmware update and then the update FINALLY worked for me.

I do it only if there if the cam is acting Buggy, and I suspect its Firmware. Otherwise I don't bother touching it.

I have a V1 and I want to know if its safe to leave the camera attached to the windshield even when the car will be parked for a while because I know it has an internal battery. I live in Southern California so the heat is usually in the 80-90's on a normal day.

the worst can happen it will fall off..... i live in NorCal and cant keep it on my windshield attached, 3m tape sucks, but didn't harm my camera yet

Helpful vid, but i had an issue copying the .bin file onto the sd card on Mac. It wouldn't drop in on an empty card, but it worked once there was something on the card (i put an empty folder in, then deleted the folder).

does this work the same way when just plugging the wire into the computer? I am trying to get the expert version on mine to get motion detection, i transfer the files over it says updating logo, but even after that happens motion is not one of the options. what do you suggest?

The Motion Detection has never worked or is unstable. I find that it in some circumstances (randomly) corrupts files that can't be deleted by the dashcam and thus sometimes foils loop recording. So I just turn it off, not worth the "non-feature". I get that you want to record possible incidents of people messing with your car, but in my opinion, not worth it at the expense of keeping the Core feature (ie recording the 99.9% of the other situations) stable.

Musa Touray Sandisk is often fake counterfeit, make sure its not counterfeit by examining it. Also it may just be defective

Musa Touray what is the error message when you format it, are you formatting it from the dash cam and your model is Rexing v1? not all dash cams support 64gb

Yes the is Model v1 when I put it on it says Custer size is wrong reformat please"" then I reformat the and when I press record it says memory error

I'd get the 4k one from Rexing, the main reason why I like their design is so far for me, its proven to be durable in extreme temps, like -12 in winter and 120 in Summer

yeah trying to update the firmware bricked my dash cam. I don't recommend rexing, I'm going to get an A119, more reliable. Also never ever use a sandisk ultra. use a transcend high endurance as it's meant for continuous recording.

What would happen if I installed the wrong firmware on my dashcam?

its very likely it won't boot, and would turn into an expensive paper weight. its possible the software checks for compatibility, but I wouldn't count on it.

If the screen on the logo remains locked and you have the 1 gen1 version, you have the wrong firmware and you have to redo the procedure with this firmware: www.rexingusa.com/support/firmware/rexing-v1v1g-firmware/rexing-v1- hw1-firmware / The official website got me wrong by entering this B50.2017.0301.V2.4!
